I have problems with imagining how it would be a problem, other then that some of the members in one or both of the churches question your loyalty to their church, but that would be their problem and not yours. If you go to two churches, and like both of them, then why not? What could possibly be wrong with that? :)

Okay, good. Whew! I know it may sound silly to some, but that post really took a weight off. I mean, you've got a very valid point. I really appreciate your post. Thank you. It really made me feel better.

I don't know about questioning loyalty, but how much do they differ in beliefs...that would seem to be the only concern. Based on if it would cause confusion in your mind and heart or not...

As far as beliefs they are on the exact same page. They have practices that are unique that denomination though. But they are both pretty pentecostal in belief and all. The trinity, the Bible, all that. You could go to both services and feel right at home. In fact, I have gone to one on Saturday and then the other on Sunday and heard very similar messages and scriptures.

I go to two churches. One is Presbyterian, with my cousin who has been so supportive of me. I really cherish those Sunday mornings worshipping with her. I also go to a Bible Church for later service on Sunday and bible Study on Tuesday. That church I just love because it is smaller, easier to ask questions and really focuses on Scripture. I have had no problems, the services and beliefs are very similar. Neither have any issue with me attending the other. A really good experience for me.

I agree with the very first response that you got. I go to two myself: my wife's and my own. I joined neither. They meet on different days, like yours. What I love is Bible studies. What I love to do is participate in discussions. What I don't love is church doctrine that isn't Christ-like (examples: 1) no alcohol, yet Jesus made some. 2) we are the only true church, yet that is for God to decide.) I love to have unity and less debates. I have gone to many and find that your belief is personal and should shine by your faith and love; not by your debates or arguing abilities.

Have a good day.

You are blessed having more than one church that meets your needs!

Attending more than one church is not an issue. However, I have been in churches and heard that you can only be a member of one church at a time. I'd discuss this with the leaders of the churches and pray about it.

Blessings.

My dear sister, Pharisees are the only ones who insist on having a membership in a church. Membership means a clique.

Were two or more a gathered in His Name is where His Church is.

You are a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ not a number and rank.

You go where you want to and when did membership become a commandment of His Commandments.

Blessings!

Short anwser yes.
If you want long anwser let me know.

Yes to which question? If you don't mind, I would like to have the longer answer. I wanna know what your thoughts are.

You can go where-ever you want. Timewise it might be difficult, especially if you get involved in ministries that spill over into the week days, but there is no problem going to two churches. In fact, I'm in leadership in two churches.

You make very good points. But the thing is, only one has the programs where I could be involved at. So, I don't think I would be stretching myself too thin as far as involvement. It just means that I'll have to make sure I get plenty of rest for both.

Actually the Saturday church has members who attend Sunday church. So, I don't think it would be a point of controversy. I don't really plan on broadcasting though either. Just out of respect for both places. But I really appreciate your thoughts and encouraging words.

Really? You think so? Wow, that's a comfort to know that. I will keep in mind what you've said, but I talked to the Womens' Pastor and she said it wouldn't be a problem.

You know, honestly I'm amazed at how many people say it's okay. I was thinking it would be weird or wrong or something. I love that so many are so supportive. Maybe I was worrying for nothing? I hope so, because honestly I want to be at both. I think both have a lot to offer me in different ways. I think I need both. I appreciate your opinion. I never considered that point of view before. Then I guess there are a lot of Pharisees out there. The church that I joined requires membership in order to volunteer for anything. I don't particularly like that idea, but I wanted to volunteer to help out in ministry. So, it was the price I had to pay I guess.

Thanks so much for all the replies. It's taken a huge weight off my shoulders. I've been praying about it, but so far I haven't heard anything. I'm glad to have so much support and comforting words from all of you.

I'm glad you're feeling better about going to two churches. You may find that in future you find it necessary to choose between them. The main difficulty I see there is that you could end up torn between them! But you'll probably find if that time comes, the way forward will be clear.
