Does God have a sense of humor?

I remember reading "Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy" which made mention of a book called "God's greatest blunders". I really had a good laugh at that, then caught myself...Was I having a laugh at God's expense?

So I asked my priest. He says, "The day I think God has no humor is the day I hang up my vestments."

I asked him if he was prone to just throwing them in heap instead of hanging them up.

It may or not be funny, any of it, but do you think God has a sense of humor?

I think so. If nothing else, He has a sense of irony. He is always taking small, insignificant things, a common desert bush on fire, a small lamb, a common tree fashioned into a cross, simple food like wine and bread, and giving them great and significant meaning.

He gave people hemroids, and to cure them, he had them make a golden statue of the hemroids. If that's not a bit of humor, I don't know what is.

Seriously, though... look at Elijah, when he called fire down from heaven.. when they could not entice their god to do so, he told them to shout out louder in case their god was asleep.

That is meant in a positive way, folks. Marriage is a fantastic thing. It's just that God ordained marriage and the most ludicrous things happen within them.

Personally, I KNOW God has a really funny sense of humor. He has played jokes on/with me several times... it always made both of us laugh!

I always thought the Kings statement was awfully funny.

I do'nt think so, GOD's salvation plan is extremely serious , name 1 time you read in the bible of GOD laughing, never.
When we read the bible that is the voice of almighty God speaking to us, that's how we are to lean about Him, His personality, His mercy's,His Judgement,,His righteousness,His grace,His salvation plan, ect. ect.
I know somethings may seem funny, as we read His word but i really doubt He wrote them for us to laugh at, remember He said He will not be mocked.
But at the same time maybe He does, but i Have yet to read about it in the Bible.
From everything i've read in the Bible He is a pretty serious God because His salvation plan is so extremely serious.

I delieve god gave us a sence of humor as a way to bond, relate to each other, and so on.
Remember He said His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our though,
But i could be wrong.
