I really liked "Ocean Avenue" and listened to it all the time, but when I bought "Lights and Sounds" (their latest...released on January 24th), I was kind of...horrified, to be honest. I didn't like the title track (except for the very beginning of the song...the guitar was cool!), I thought some of the songs were somewhat boring and slow, lyrically it wasn't that strong with the political issues or whatever...basically, to me it just sounded like they were trying to experiment with a different genre (and not doing too well at it). They did have some good songs, though. I liked "Waiting Game"...it had a really good beginning. The instrumental first track was really pretty too.

BTW, it's probably just me...but does the last song on the CD "Lights and Sounds" sound a lot like the song "XO" (I think that's the one) from Fall Out Boy?

Just reread my first paragraph. Really, I'm not trying to bash Yellowcard. I really like them; I think they're a good band. I'm just not a huge fan of their latest CD. :)

What's your favorite Yellowcard song?

They are from the same city I am from. They are pretty ok. I like their first album and so did my 6 year old. I got it for him. But I remember when I saw them at some bar around here and first thing I said when I saw them was "What's up with the violin...how do you rock with a violin" And they kind of sucked but they got better. I have heard that they are a musicians band because of the difficult timings they use. I don't know I could be wrong.

Anberlin calls themselves a Christian band because they're all Christians, but a lot of their music is not about God. It's not sinful, but it's just not about God.

Anberlin calls themselves a Christian band because they're all Christians, but a lot of their music is not about God. It's not sinful, but it's just not about God.

Godspeed talks about how dark the world is and how we need saving.

Whisper & a Clamor is directly quoted form Psalms

(*Fin) is his testimony

Inevitable is romance song about our relationship with God("a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere" reference)

Dismantle. Repair. is like a closure to Godspeed, saying that no matter how hard life is, no matter how many "skeletons" we have, "we're not holding on, WE'RE NEVER LETTING GOOOO!!!"

Anberlin is pervaded in and out with Christianity. They just don't blatantly throw out "Yay Jesus!" in every single song, and would prefer to go deeper into the human soul and psyche. I love that. We need more meat in music.
