I once heard in a sermon that the Bible never mentions Angels singing - in KJV or in the original languages. That singing Angels is a tradition of man, and that song is a unique form of worship between humankind and God.

I tried once to find if this was true on my own, but surprised myself by not being able to refute that. Anyone else have a Biblical reference to Angels singing?

I died of bronchial pnemonia at the age of 4 months(and obviously brought back). Now science tells us that the brain of a 4 month old is incapable of long term memory. I of course cannot remember anything having to do with it. My parents and sibs told me about it. But let me share this with you.
All though my childhood I had a recurrent dream/memory of flying upwards into bright clouds and hearing beauiful harmonious singing. For some reason I never put it together with what they said happened.
I was saved in my teens. One night I had a dream where I was on a path leading through a beautiful valley surrounded by rolling green hills. There was a large tree next to the path, and an old man all in white. I asked him "Where is God?" He pointed up into the sky over the tree and said "up there". As soon as he said that, I was flying up into the sky, once again there were those bright clouds and that beautiful singing. I suddenly felt I was going to heaven but that God said "not yet". I was falling back, and when I awoke, I literally bounced off my bed at least 6 inches into the air.
What does it mean?
I don't know.
I believe angels sing.

when I was baptised in the Holy Spirit, I asked Him to help me sing a love song to Jesus. And this amazing song came out of me that was not a human language, and was, I believe, a language of angels. I still remember the words to the song, but I am unable to tell them to people. I certainly believe angels sing.

 Isa 44:23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done [it]: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

Isa 49:13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

Singing angels comes from religion or songbooks, no place in the Bible does it state that angels sing. That does not mean they can’t, it just means it is not recorded in the Bible, which is our only source of truth. I guess if God felt it was important he would have had it recorded.

I have an old cassette tape of angels singing recorded by Don Gossett's son as they were rehearsing a new song. It was recorded on a portable tape recorder as the band was playing with a french horn, piano and guitar. This tape was played on quite a few christian radio shows in the US about six or seven years ago. The sound of the angels singing is simply beautiful and did you know they don't stop for a breath!

Actually it's John MacArthur who preaches it, and his homework is done well. The Bible doesn't mention singing. It's not an essential doctrine, but I believe the redeemed sing, angels don't. In heaven they shout, the Bible never mentions them singing. We believe it because of our song Hark the herald, angels sing...

I don't think we have any explicit instances of messengers "singing" in the Scriptures. We have worship services in the heavens, we have messengers shouting wondrous words, boasting about Elohim...but nothing that would directly strike down a stickler who wanted to insist on the rather fruitless endeavor of "Angels don't sing." "Heavenly host" doesn't particularly give proof of singing angels, because there are many more to the heavenly host than just angels. (If you think that the heavenly host only consist of angels, try commenting on my little essay a few threads back :) ) What it does do, however, is rule out someone who wants to say "Angels can't sing, it's a fact, and I have proof!" If all the heavenly host is singing and playing instruments (metaphorically or literally, whichever is your belief), it's a little strange to say that the messengers of Elohim, who have labored as much as any other creature in the Kingdom to bring their brethren home, will keep their (metaphoric or literal) mouthes shut--or for some reason chant words without a melody, while everybody else sings a melody. It's just silly. "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" wasn't necessarily sung (and it wasn't in Latin), but insisting that messengers don't sing to Elohim with everybody else is a little much. It's almost like saying that we can't praise God with a piano, because the NT doesn't explicitly, directly say "Saints of God, you will praise God with a piano." People who believe this discount the instruments being played in the heavenly host, much like this guy apparently neglects the singing of the heavenly host.

Lucifer was a music machine - Ezekiel 28:13 The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Isaiah 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols.

Tabrets, pipes and viols are all musical instruments, so there was obviously music in heaven.

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy. I have read somewhere, the morning stars were angels.

I also have a tape from an English church worship recording. They have a little old electric organ, the playing is very tinny, then a sound starts up aound it and builds until it is a mighty, mighty roar of voices and instruments. then gradually fades back to this little organ.

The congregation were on their faces, the organist had fallen off his stool and was incapable of playing, the sound recordist had PULLED THE PLUG on the recording because he thought eveything was blowing up.

One of Australia's top Christian musicians ran the tape through sophisticated musical equipment, and could not identify instruments, and could hear sounds between the notes we know and use.

The congregation and people outside the church trying to get it and being knocked flat said angels were flying everywhere.

I believe everything is meant to sing. i am looking out my window on a beautiful day, the breeze is whispering, birds are darting around singing, the grass rustles - everything has a sound - all singing out the joy of creation to the Creator.

(Even my son's alarm is singing out 'get up, get up" - i just wish he would and turn it off!!!)

This sounds incredible! I was fortunate enough to be at a women's conference in Adelaide many years ago and as we were worshipping the atmosphere became charged as we heard glorious singing high over our heads and the sound of many waters came rolling across the auditorium. There was a feeling of wonder as the hair literally stood up on the back of our necks. I'll never forget that conference.

Howdy!

When I attended the first Prayer Mtn. meetings in 2001 during some of the praise & worship sessions it sounded as tho' there were alot more voices making music in the room than just the people. There was this sort of awesome togetherness of the worship....it was beautiful! If it wasn't a heavenly chorus adding to us, then the Spirit was really making us all sound so good! ;) When I got to those meetings I felt like I had finally found a place where I fit.....and then to listen to the worship and hear something so beautiful....it was especially pronounced when we were all "singing" in the Spirit....I mean you could hear distinct voices of the folks around you (if you focused on them) and none of them sounded like they were saying the same thing, but the overall effect in the room was so beautiful.....so lovely......so together! Sure sounded like heaven to me!

May the Grace & Peace of our Lord Jesus be with you!
