Did Manna, taste like whatever you wanted it to taste like, or not...?

Exodus 16:31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

Sounds a bit like cookies...?
I heard that there was some speculation over the Hebrew name and meaning of "Manna", that could support it tasting like, whatever they desired at the time, is that right, or wrong...?

It tasted like cakes baked with fresh olive oil (Numbers 11:8)
Fresh oil, could have a spiritual meaning...? We assume it was olive oil, but that's not what scripture says or tells us...

One idea of what "manna" means is related to how they were asking what it was. The meaning could be, then, something like "what is it?" or "what it is".

Maybe, "whatever".

I would say each person's nature decided if he or she could keep eating manna without getting tired of it.

"be content with such things as you have" (in Hebrews 13:5) > in God's love we are naturally satisfied by Him Himself, so that we can have a lot or a little, the same or variety, and be content . . . like Paul says in Philippians 4:10-13.

Does the physical oil though, represent a spiritual kind of oil...?
Oil was used to anoint kings, and Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38). Jesus said that He is the true manna (John 6). I think there's a lot of meaning in the bread and the oil.

just enuff oil to make vanilla wafers -- boy, if they had bananas they could make banana pudding!

The OIL that was used to anoint Aaron and his sons was called the Holy Anointing Oil, made with cinnamon, cassia, (myrrh? Calamus?) and olive oil blended together... 5 ingredients

I think Kings were anointed with plain olive oil

Jesus, being Priest and King, would have needed both kinds I guess.

I have only eaten QUAIL once in my life -- Israelites in desert ate til they got sick of that, too.

"Holy anointing oil is crafted from a specific recipe that includes five ingredients: myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, cassia and olive oil. The recipe was revealed to Moses by God. Holy oils are not merely oils that have been blessed but sacred materials that should be used with care."

Supposedly it tasted like wafers baked with honey. I assume it was unleavened so I don't think God was airdropping big loafs of bread like we are used to thinking of bread. Some kind of flat bread.
