Mal 4:
There is no direct attribution of this in the NT.
An angel spoke to Zechariah concerning his coming son in Lk 1:5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”
John fulfilled that as he baptized many Jews.16 He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God,
Jesus affirmed 17a in Mt 17:12.17a and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah,
Did John fulfill Lk 1:17b?17b to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
There is no direct attribution of this in the NT.
Jesus affirmed 17c in Mt 11:17c to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”
There was no direct mention that John turned the hearts of the fathers to the children. Indirectly, His call for repentance brought about a spiritual renewal that would affect all aspects of life, including family reconciliations. I suspect that there will be a future fulfillment just before Jesus returns.10 This is he of whom it is written, “‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’"
