Coiled garden hose...any advice?

I noticed the new coiled garden hoses this year. I'm getting frustrated with my regular garden hose (you know...twists that stop the flow, tangles, pulling it back to the faucet, etc.).

I'm wondering how far they will stretch (it doesn't seem a 50' coiled hose would really stretch 50' or would it?) Does it really recoil? How about water pressure?

(With the summer heat and drought, I'm having to water my new trees and bushes a lot. Every time I do, I think about those new hoses.)

If I recall, they were more than twice what a regular hose of the same length was, which was one reason I didn't get one. I also couldn't figure out what length I would need, since the coil must shorten how far it actually stretches. And, I wondered if it was hard to stretch it out.

I think I'll get one, though--partly for safety (a rationalization) since the regular hose is a tangled mess. I need a hose for the back yard, so I'll use my regular hose there (another rationalization).

Thanks for letting me know that you like it.
