I know some of you may not like me saying this but it is the truth. First of all, most anime with the exception of kid's shows are very violent and some even pornographic. But secondly, and most importantly, anime is created almost entirely by non-Christians. As a Christian you should not be supporting a nation of zen-Bhuddists and Shinto followers. You may think that is closed minded, but it is not. It is the Lord's way.

Think about it. By finacially benefiting an entire nation that rejects Christ, you are in essence supporting idol worship and turning your back on God. It is no differnt than watching movies made by Wiccans or other occultists. Consider what I say. You may find anime entertaining as I once did, but at what price? At the price of your soul. It is a Christian's job to witness to others and show them the way to salvation. If you support the Japanese, you are sending them straight to Hell.

MOD HAT ON

Alright I had a feeling a thread like this would come up sometime. So I will try and explain a few things.

Basicly you are entitled to your own opinion. Some like anime, some do not. I have heard many people say that they do not like anime, and that is fine. But saying these sorts of things about anime and God is way out of line.

Just because someone likes a certain show or a book, it does not mean that God will hate them and turn his back on them. Just because someone likes anime, that someone will not go to Hell. If that person believes that Christ is the Lord and loves him, no matter what he or she will go to Heaven, whether the person likes anime or not.

I am now closing down this thread, for this thread is just going to start flamewars. I aplogize for sounding harsh, but this thread has made me very angry. The reason for that is I have been a devoted Christian for 2.5 years. I have also loved anime for over a year. Never in my life would I turn my back on God for anime. Sure I love anime yes, but God is much more important to me.

So again, this thread is closed. I apologize again, but this thread is just begging for trouble. Thank you all for understanding and God Bless.

I disagree with the OP. Although I'm not particularly a fan of anime, I think Christians can watch it. Some anime is violent/pornographic, though, and that should be avoided.

But Kosh, have you ever owned a Japanese car? Played a Japanese-produced game? Worn anything made in China, India, Japan, Korea, or Indonesia? Then, by your logic, you are supporting many non-Christians. Even if you're careful to buy only things made in the US and other countries whose population was mostly Christian, how do you know that the particular manufacturers of the product wasn't an atheist, Buddhist, Wiccan...?

And further still, even if you could assume that all Americans are Christian and all Japanese are non-Christians, what would be the purpose of hurting their economy? Is that a Christian thing to do?

And on that note lets end this asinine discussion. Paying non-christians isn't wrong, unless you think God cares about money.
