There are fruits of the Holy Spirit that reveal themselves in a regenerated Christian. Here they are :

Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

When in doubt ask yourself , " Is this ( fill in the blank with the fruit)?

One who follows God, is encouraged by God, to do good deeds, or good things. As a person who dwells close to God will be motivated to do good. The bible tells us that the one who does not do good does not dwell in God's love.

1Jn 3:17 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

Salvation is not based on 'good works' or on being compassionate, but on ones belief.

If a person against the Bible teaching (i.e Killing/Stealing/Corruption) but show the world how he/she reading/praying diligently then salvation still work?

Salvation is based on a spiritual transformation, when one is born again by the Holy Spirit. It's not like an online game where you fill the meter up and complete an objective.

Salvation is only by the Holy Spirit's work of
1) faith in and trust on the person and atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the remission of one's sin and right standing with God's judgment; i.e., "not guilty," followed by
2) obedience in the Holy Spirit to God's New Testament commands.

Salvation is a free gift from God.
One does not earn or deserve free gifts.

We are saved by grace through faith to do works worthy of our repentance. This is what Ephesians 2:8-10 means as St. Paul testifies the same meaning to King Agrippa in Acts of the Apostles 26:20 within the fuller context of Acts of the Apostles 26:13-20. St. John the Baptist uses the same phrase of works worthy of repentance in Luke 3:8 within the fuller context of Luke 3:1-16.

It is this commitment to faith and repentance in which we live out our salvation ( see Romans 10:9-13). See also Colossians 1:10, Colossians 1:23 but also read all of Colossians 1 for the full message.

The Lord says if we love Him, we will keep His commandments ( John 14:15-18). These commandments are as the Lord Himself said in Matthew 19:16-19 & as St. Paul said in Romans 13:8-10. The highest form of the commandments are love God & neighbor ( Matthew 22:36-40 etc.). This is not easy but it is necessary; see also 1 John 2.

None of those things mean anything as far as our being rescued (saved) by God in Christ.

But that which is to be called a good work can only be called a good work if it benefits our neighbor. God doesn't need our good works, but our neighbor does. Good works don't merit us anything before God, but it is how God's grace and power is exhibited in our lives in the midst of the world. Good works matter because God says our neighbor matters, and if we are His we are to have an aligned heart and disposition. It is for good works that we have been saved.

If they are killing, stealing, and being corrupt, especially without remorse; then all the praying and reading of the Bible and going to church regularly means nothing.

Empathy means we've had similar experiences as the person we're expected to empathize with... and even a similar background, which would make our reactions the same. How often does this happen in real life?

Compassion means Sympathy, Pity.

Example: Forgiveness

Matthew 18:23-35 Therefore is the Kingdom of Heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.[24] And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.[25] But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
[26] The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[27] Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
[28] But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.[29] And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.[30] And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.[31] So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
[32] Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:[33] Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?[34] And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
[35] So likewise shall My Heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

The content of a gift can itself be the experience of doing something, such as giving someone to opportunity to experience driving a Ferrari for an hour, where them doing the work of driving it does not detract from the opportunity to experience it being completely given to them as a gift. In a similar way, the content of God's gift of eternal life is the experience of knowing God and Jesus (John 17:3), and God's law is His instructions for how to have that experience through expressing aspects of His nature. The Hebrew word "yada" refers to knowledge that is gained by experience, relationship, or intimacy, such as in Genesis 4:1, where Adam knew (yada) Eve, she conceived, and gave birth to Cain. In Exodus 33:13, Moses wanted God to be gracious to him by teaching him His way that he might know Him and Israel too, and in Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus said that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from him because he never knew them, so knowing God and Jesus is the goal of the law, which is eternal life by grace through faith.

Our salvation is from sin (Matthew 1:21) and sin is the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4), so while we do not earn our salvation by obeying it because that is not the goal of the law, getting to have the experience of knowing God and Jesus by living in obedience to it nevertheless is inherently part of the concept of Jesus saving us from living in transgression of it. In Jeremiah 9:3 and 9:6, they did not know God and refused to know him because in 9:13, they had forsaken God's law, while in 9:24, those who know God know that He delights in practicing steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in all of the earth, so delighting in expressing those and other aspects of God's nature through our obedience to His law is the way to know Him and Jesus, who is the exact expression of God's nature (Hebrews 1:3)

However, people can obey God's law while missing that knowing Jesus through expressing his nature is the goal of the law, and thus still be counted as a workers of lawlessness, which is the reason why those in Matthew 7:21-23 were counted as workers of lawlessness and as not having done the will of the Father even through they were doing good things. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus said that tithing was something that they ought to be doing while not neglecting weightier matters of the law of justice, mercy, and faithfulness, so God's law was intended to teach us how to experience expressing weightier matters that are aspects of God's nature, which is the way to know Him and Jesus. In Romans 9:30-10:4, the Israelites had a zeal for God, but it was not based on knowing Him, so they failed to attain righteousness because they pursued the law as through righteousness were by works in an effort to establish their own rather than by pursuing the law as though righteousness is by faith in Christ, for knowing Christ is the goal of the law for righteousness for everyone who has faith. In Philippians 3:8, Paul had been in the same boat, where he had been keeping the law, but without having a focus on knowing Christ, so he had been missing the whole goal of the law and counted it all as rubbish. So yes, it is possible for someone to go through all the motions while neglecting to experience weightier matters of the law like compassion, and thus not know God and Jesus, not have eternal life/salvation.

# 2 is a problem since compassion is commanded of God. (Matthew 9:11-13; Colossians 3:12, 1 Peter 3:8, etc.)

Anyway, salvation does not "work" on the basis of what we do, but on the basis of what Christ has done for us in which we put our trust. No one earns their salvation by means of the good deeds they do.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

2 Timothy 1:9
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

Titus 3:4-7
4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

These verses take place near the end of the Sermon on the Mount, which begins with the Laws and Commandments of the Kingdom of Heaven, in Matthew 5:1-2.
From this, we can know what is the will of the Father in these verses which are being preached to His Disciples.

Because these Sermon on the Mount verses are not even remotely about prophesies or casting out devils or doing miracles... they're about law-keeping. The word translated as iniquity is actually ἀνομίαν, from a-nomos... no-law. "Therefore"... the next thing happens because of this anomia/no-law event is Matthew 7:26-27.
First things first, in other words. "Keep My Commandments", then you've become a Disciple and the friend of Ιησους... then you're given the Holy Spirit by the Father, and THEN you can be sent out as an apostled-Disciple. Disciple means student, pupil, a learner of the Teacher: Christ (Matthew 23:8-10).

This is precisely the way it works in the Gospel of the Kingdom for the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel... Matthew 10:5-7.

Matthew 7:21-25 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in Heaven.[22] Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many (δυνάμεις) wonderful works?[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work (ἀνομίαν) iniquity.[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon the rock:[25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon the rock.

Isaiah 59:21 And this shall be My Covenant with them, said the Lord: My Spirit which is upon Thee, and the words which I have put in Thy mouth shall never fail from Thy mouth, nor from the mouth of Thy seed, for the Lord has spoken it henceforth and for ever.LXX (Deuteronomy 18:18-19, John 12:49-50, Matthew 24:35)

The Father has straightforwardly made His will through what He has commanded (Psalms 40:8), though Matthew 7:21-23 contrasts those who do the Father's will with those who are workers of lawlessness. Furthermore, there is still a reason why they were counted as workers of lawlessness and not doing the Father's will even though they were doing good things.

They are literally called "he working without law."

458 anomía (from 1 /A "not" and 3551 /nómos, "law") – properly, without law;
Strong's Greek: 458. ἀνομία (anomia) -- lawlessness
