The words that come out of your mouth
Start to blend together into a string
Of never-ending syllabic cacophony

The whole room becomes full
Of the ritualistic utterances
That confuse the newcomers
And mock God's Holy Scripture

People fall over and lose control
The spirits manifesting in the flesh
Everyone starts to praise God
For something He did not do at all
But for something eerily horrid

Do little diamonds appear in your room
When you get home from megachurch?

What is your opinion of the Charismatic church?

I think that their faith in the spiritual gifts is, paradoxically, quite weak. It's about as bad as the cessationists. When one does not genuinely believe, then one either pretends, or else one denies the truth altogether (or writes a blasphemous poem). Cessationists are not the opposite of the Charismatics, but they are a different manifestation of the same unbelief.

What does it mean that tongues will cease?

I am not a scholar on this matter, but GotQuestions is the best Biblical website I know of for this.

Hard-line cessationists have a lack of belief. I am a soft-line cessationist in that I believe in the supernatural power of God working, but that it only happens if it's His will. We cannot conjure for ourselves anything, for God has the power, not us. Only the Apostles had the power to heal people of their own accord, for they were living witnesses of Christ. Today's Charismatics are none of the sort. Yet God works miracles all the time, does He not? My poem is against the Charismatic heresy, not the genuine miracles that God works when He wills them to happen.
