• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Has anyone ever heard of Celebrate Recovery? Celebrate Recovery really should be posted in at least three different threads, but I'm afraid to post the same message in more than one thread.

My two boys and I have been going to Celebrate Recovery for almost three months now at our church, Big Valley Grace. The program has really been helpful to the three of us.

I've been a single father for almost one year now. Went through a terrible separation, divorce, and court battle for child custody. My two boys are now living with me.

Praise God, we are on the road to healing and recovery. Celebrate Recovery is a program to help people struggling with sexual addictions, drug/alcohol addiction, family problems, mental problems, etc.

This is a great progrma, similar to AA, but we use the Bible to line up with the 12 steps. Our Celebrate Recovery starts off with dinner together, then an awesome time of worship, testimony and/or Bible study, then we break up into small groups for one hour. After the small groups, we regroup for more fellowship and desert.

You should check out to see if there is a Celebrate Recovery in your area. If not, ask around at different churches, and see if you can get somebody interested in starting a Celebrate Recovery program.

Sorry, I can't post URLs. I need at least 15 posts first. Do a search and you will finds many links to Celebrate Recovery, worldwide.

That really sounds awesome! I wish there was one in Northwest Alabama. I just ran into a good friend that I go to church with who was trying to get some small group type things started at our church and was very discouraged because couldn't seem to get the leadership to get on board and this sounds like what he's looking for or trying to do. We do have a local congregation that has a spiritual recovery class on Sunday mornings. I just think this is awesome and wonder why there aren't any in the southern states.

Yes, the Celebrate Recovery program is very easy to start. They have a kit that will get you started, with all the information and support you might need. Anyone can start a group without any experience. Everything you need to say is right in the kit. If you have experience, that's even better. Here is a link to the kit. I think it's about $130.00.

The only advice that I have is that you stick to the program. There will be others that come in and want to make it into an AA group, or along that structure. AA is great, but Celebrate Recovery is based on Jesus Christ, and because of that, it is all that much more powerful.

May God be with you all. I have been clean now for almost 4 years, and I thank and credit Jesus Christ with my recovery. If you are seeking to be freed from the binds of addiction, Jesus can break those chains. I highly recommend the Celebrate Recovery program, and Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life book as well. He is a gift from God.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My boys and I are still attending Celebrate Recovery at our home church every Tuesday. We also go to Celebrate Recovery at Shelter Cove on Fridays.

I got my 25-year chip several weeks ago! Praise God. I could not have come this far without the Master's touch. My boys are making good progress. They are nine and almost 14 years old, and really need to learn how to use the tools they are getting from Celebrate Recovery.

Our home church has a great program (not all Celebrate Recovery programs have this for kids) for kids. The first group is for younger kids, up to 6th grade, called, "Rock Solid for Jesus," and the next is for the junior high and high school, called, "Life Hurts God Heals."

I am so thankful for Celebrate Recovery. I have found healing, peace, and we are all making so many new friends. I know that God is using me to help others too with encouragement.
