does anyone know of any good catholic movies to watch or woukld like to recomend?

I just saw the new Pope John Paul II, it was so good.

There are many. Especially from Hollywood's "Golden Period" where we find Going My Way, or The Bells of St. Mary. Then there's Mel Gibson's blockbuster The Passion. The Vatican with Sir Peter Ustinov is good, but it is rather long and is more non-fiction. I really like The Shoes of the Fisherman. Although it's a fictional story, it deals with some facts surrounding the time during the time of the election of a Pope. (I really like historical fiction.)

There's a new movie called Bella coming out soon into (some) theaters.
Bella has acutally been in theaters for some time now, but it isn't a huge movie, so most theaters don't have it for long or even at all. There has to be a very high demand in the city for it and for the town I live in, we would have had to rent out the theater... which is quite expensive. I heard it's really good though and want to see it once it comes out on DVD.

A Man for all Seasons. Therese. Into the Great Silence. The Scarlet and the Black. Ben Hur. In this house of Brede.

Those should keep you busy for awhile!
There are at least two movies entitled "Therese"! The one that you are most likely to find was produced by Leonardo Defilippis and is "Endorsed by the Vatican" (has a large seal on the front that says so. It is a good film but...

Its compitition, produced by Maurice Bernart in France is a film that will truly touch your heart. Personally I think it stands heads and sholders over the other. It is, when you see it, clearly a much lower budget film but in it's much simpler way more clearly demonstates the humble, childlike spirit of Therese the "Little Flower". A film not to be missed.
