Is there any good theme for camp? I wish hear some theme that regards to more teenage gospel rally.

eg: what is life? God is coming soon? (something like that)

any theme that your church camps are using now? or church is using now as a sermon theme? :) something appealing...

hope to hear replies from you !!! :) God blesses... * prays *

Our theme for Summer Camp last year was "Lord of the Kings"... this is our website's blog on it:

Last year at Summer Camp:

Our theme last year was "Lord of the Kings",
with the central focus on the Man Himself,
Jesus.

Day ONE: Lord of the Kings - Welcome to Summer Camp, lets get started with an interactive presentation by Cross Purposes Mission Team.

Day TWO: The Hobbit - Beginning to explore our humble beginnings and who we are with God.

Day THREE: The Fellowship of the King - Exploring the Trinity and their dynamic love relationship.

Day FOUR: The Two Towers - How does Sin, Conflict and Division have an impact on our lives?

Day FIVE: The Return of the King - Preparing for the 2nd Coming and leading holy lives is what we focus on today.

Day SIX: In The Name of the King - Living it out in Jesus Name.

Day SEVEN: The Scourging of the Shire - Going home to transform the world.

We had clips from one of the three films each day to link things together, and it worked really well...

Thanks. It might be worth emailing and asking permission if you want to nick everything. I think our Camp Co-Ordinators would say yes, but it would just be nice to acknowledge their work. Just say you saw the website and like the idea. Our link is www.sioncommunity.org.uk

I used to go on camps where every dorm was named after a country or people group. Every morning each dorm had to do a 2 min skit showing that they understand the spiritual and cultural aspect of that country or people group. The talks on the camp were done by a speaker so there was no over all theme. This helps kids grow in understanding of other countries and cultures. It also means the leaders have to do alot of research and info gathering before the camp so kids have info to help.

hey all, we did the lord of the kings theme for our summer camp last year as well, how weird is that, you sound just like someone i know but i didnt do anything with cross purposes, thats quite scary, God is always cool and surprising like that.

i just ran a youth camp weekend just gone and we based it on romans 12: 1 - 2 about being transformed by the renewing of your mind and focused on how to be a christian in general, private, public, home and completely andf utterly sold out for Jesus. Went really well. if you want the basic outlines let me know and you can have them no problems.

The most recent weekend away I have been honoured to have been involved with talk and leadership wise was on the Cross!

the weekend was titled "Cross Purposes"

and we covered over the time we had

1) Approaching the cross
2)The heart of the cross
3)the achievements of the cross
4) Living under/with the cros

Hope that has helped a little bit, and if you want more in depth information about how we covered it, and what sort of things we did, let me know!

God Bless

Recently with Jr. Highers we did a retreat called TRANSFORMERS. (The 80's is SO totally back right now!!!)

In our four main sessions we used bible characters to talk about how God wants to transform us into transformers of our world.
It was good stuff. And there is a whole lot of different places you could go with it.

BTW I really love the LORD OF THE KINGS idea. I may just have to use it sometime too...

I'm currently involved in organzing a camp with 3 other churches in our fellowship and we've decided on "thinking different" which is based on Romans 12:1-3...
