A Southern California mayor said he wants to eliminate his city's homeless population by "giving them all the fentanyl they want," a controversial comment he doubled down on by saying he supports a federal "purge" of homeless people.

Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris, a Republican, made the comments during a city council meeting on Feb. 25 when a resident questioned him about the city’s plan to address the homeless crisis by "enclosing" the homeless population in a single encampment in an abandoned golf course near a residential neighborhood.

"What I want to do is give them free fentanyl. That’s what I want to do," Parris responded.

"I want to give them all the fentanyl they want," he reiterated.

That man is scary. He has no business holding a position of power. Lord have mercy! :praying:
What a nut case. What he's saying is I'm too stupid to work on the homeless issue, so let's kill them.

He has a murderous criminal mind. Not comforting.

Over 30 years ago another law enforcement officer told me that if you wanted to solve the drug problem tell everyone that there’s some bad stuff going around and that doing drugs will kill you. Then put something in the drugs that kills people and flood the market with it.
The addicts will die off and everyone else will be afraid to do drugs.
It’s a very cold view to have but fentanyl is making it a reality

Well, not even I am voting for that. Someone else needs to run for office that's a Republican. Nobodies actually going to vote for this guy.

I don't know what we do exactly to solve the drug problems, but I don't think anyone thinks this is the way to go.

Like everything else, it's only a certain percentage of the population who does such things anyway, it'll never be most people.

Yikes! So, mass murder is his solution to homelessness? Glad I don't live in this guy's city.
