I wonder if I can put some of my blood to my mom to motivate her to exercise. We have the same blood type the last time I checked.

Anyway, she has health issues that is directly caused by her sedentary lifestyle. I am extremely physically active on the other hand at the athletic level.

I've read the same thing about heart transplants and it's not just personality that goes with the organ but the organ donor's memories as well.

I think this phenomenon might prove the "soul" and the DNA is likely the same thing.

I've read an obscure Japanese research about DNA and findings that DNA can imprint itself to distant organic objects even without physical contact (possibly via quantum entanglement or other quantum mechanical processes).

I just think it will be interesting to see how many, who believe science is religion, go on to pick their religious leader according to what they want to believe. Are these scientists correct or is the OPPOSING view correct? Is their view because someone has had a blood transplant and they don't want the science to be correct or are they worried that this might happen if they do have one and the circle goes 'round.

Personally, I've opted out of organ and blood donation and have said I don't want to give or receive, officially.

My mom was part of the blood transfusion scandal in the early 80s where prisoners blood was given to people and it was infected with hepatitis C.

This was just the first time doctors and scientists have devastated the lives of my family with their freakish science projects.

I don't know what I believe but I do find it interesting the responses to these types of studies and listening to others personal experiences.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

I've been given blood transfusion for surgery from a complex fracture. I did feel a little different but it's probably from the severed nerves from the surgery and I don't feel like my arm is 100% alive and I've started having weird but otherwise, pleasant dreams of a post-apocalyptic Earth where the skies are purple-pink everywhere like it's dusk or dawn and giant trees are started growing out of the ground. A little bit trippy but beautiful.

Sometimes the dreams are 19th century European countryside with me exploring the place with a bicycle. They looked quite like the places of the countryside Vincent Van Gogh painted. It could have been the same images, brought to life in dreams.

The dreams kept coming for two years until couple of months ago. It coincided with a change in my physical training.

oxygen may help (athletes in competition have used it) and others.....

But I am sure blood is too risky and unproven any help.

I'd stay away from pure oxygen supply unless you're ill or injured and your doctor decides you need one.

Higher concentrations of oxygen is relatively toxic.

A heart transplant, a 'new' heart in a manner of speaking,
replacing an old 'dying' heart,
natural brings desired effects ! "Honest data" known. No mystery there.

Promoting spurious (little to no evidence) fables though, might be greatly pre-mature to do.

I'm not promoting anything. If you have a sick heart and the only option is a transplant, you'd do it anyway if your health insurance covers it.

But as for me, I don't have insurance. One of the reasons I train like an athlete, not to compete but to maintain good mobility up to an old age. I will most likely die alone so I need to be in great shape.

In the episode when Archey Bunker received blood from a black doctor she
told Archey, "from now on, you'll have a strong desire to eat watermelon." :D

I was tallking to a lady who said she had received a heart transplant from a male patient, which I would imagine is a rare event in itself.

But she said she sometimes had a real craving for Coca Cola (if I remember rightly - it was a few years ago and I only spoke to her a couple of times).

She said that she didn't have any such craving before she had the transplant. It transpired that the donor was a very heavy drinker of Coke.

PS - If you get an organ transplant from a hardline atheist, and find yourself having atheistic thoughts, when the day comes to front up to the pearly gates you might need to bring a note from your doctor.

In medical schools in the last century, they made it clear that 9 out of 10 surgery was for money only - not needed surgery, as other ways of healing were (still) available without surgery, and
of course costing only pennies on the dollar.
Since medical protocols are almost always built on the dollar, the pennies approach is not even mentioned , in favor of getting mucho dollaros....
Well having survived three surgeries since 2013, I can assure you, they were to save my life and not for money.

I find it strange when people self report side effects. They often attribute things to something even if it has nothing to do with that thing.....

On the other hand, people get dismissed for saying things and we later find out those things were very real.

So.....who knows!

I have been banned from giving blood!!!!!

They are afraid that people would start barking if they had mine!
The side effects could be embarassing if they got a heart transplant from you!

Interesting.

I've never gave blood (I have kidney disease which could lead to high blood pressure) or received blood. I've heard about people receiving organs taking on the personality of their donors. It really makes me wonder how the soul and body are truly connected.
