Hebrews 11:6
6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Most people quote only the first part of Hebrews 11:6 — “without faith it is impossible to please Him”. Yet, it goes on to say, “for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. In other words, the faith that pleases God is the kind of faith that believes that God exists and that He is a rewarder.

The Bible also says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11:1) So even in times of difficulty, when we don’t see good things happening in our circumstances, we are to believe that God will turn things around and reward us.

God turned things around for Ruth, the Moabite widow, when she believed the Lord and made Him her God. (Ruth 1:16) The Bible tells us that she was given a “full reward” by the Lord when she came under His wings for refuge. (Ruth 2:12) Not only did He give her protection, He also gave her abundant provision, exceeding favor and a glorious redemption. (Ruth 2:9–17, 3:11, 4:10–13)

When Rahab, the harlot of Jericho, heard reports of how the Lord had opened up the Red Sea for the children of Israel, she believed that “He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath”. (Joshua 2:9–11) Though Rahab had not personally witnessed the miracles, she believed God and hid the Jewish spies from their pursuers. (Joshua 2:4–6) Because of her faith, she not only did not perish with those who did not believe (Joshua 6:25, Hebrews 11:31), but she was also given a place in the “hall of faith” in Hebrews 11.

God was so pleased with the faith of these two Gentile women that He not only blessed them in their lifetimes, but He also put them into the genealogy of His Son Jesus Christ, the great Redeemer and rewarder.
Beloved, when you come to the Lord with your needs, believe that He is God, and that He is a rewarder. God has pleasure in this kind of faith. He wants to be the rewarder of your faith in Him!

The scripture you posted was the second verse that touched me when I come to God by Christ. The first was "this is eternal life that they might know thee the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ. But I noticed the same thing, the second part of that verse is usually not quoted (rewarder of them that diligently seek Him) whereas I know it spoke volumes to me, "that I might know Him"... Even here... (more of Him)

Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

God bless you

Thank you for the encouraging reminder!! Sometimes I forget my motivating factor in the seemingly [sometimes] mundane tasks of life - and that's to please my Lord and He will reward His own when they are faithful to Him. He never forgets us and even if no one else ever cared what we did, He is watching, so let's give Him our all and be people of excellence!

The word "wages" (which is reward too) is also used in respects to he that reapeth here...

he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal (which again) is to know the one true God, and Jesus Christ:thumbsup:

So He is our salary, I couldnt ask for a better one then that, sow to the Spirit reap of the same

God bless you tenfold this time!

I so totally agree with what is written above. So many times I see people post the Hebrews verse about God disciplining us, His childeren.

The biggest thing God wants to see in us is Faith in Him. The idea that we will stand firm to His promises to the believer. The question is... how far we we go before we want to take things into our own hands.

King David is a great example, he always asked God before taking a battle into his own hands. If he got a answer to wait, he waited. At times God had to set up a situation before he released David. Perhaps a wind in the trees, a clap of thunder, either way God set up Davids victories.
And in the end, he gave all the Glory of his victories to the Lord.

We don't what God has to set up before he can fulfill our prayers. This is our time of discipline, patience, waiting on the Lord.

The isaerlites got tired of waiting for moses to come back off the mountain, and it brought devistation to many.

Like it reads above, faith is the substance of things hoped for.

Bro, ops- sorry. Make that my beloved Covenant Bro ;)

Am sure you'll agree that there's simply too many professing to be wise but are fools by not reading Scriptures in context nor investigating why a particular verse was said the ways it did & who wrote it with the intended audience. Nor do many know how to rightly divide The Word between Pre & Post Cross.

A lot of doctrines do not posses the Full Armor of GOD-Eph 5 hence little wonder christians throughout these 2000 years are weak/ sick/ poor & die early
