So, we're trying to increase storage space in our teeny tiny flat, and my husband suggested getting some bed raisers to increase the space under the bed. Something like this: Buy 7-Inch Power Bed Riser (Set of 4) from Bed Bath & Beyond
(I know, pretty ugly. But less so than having all our stuff cluttering up every available surface!)

However, I'm concerned that the bed will jump/slide off them when we're having sex! :o Does anyone else have any experience of this??

We have a small double (4 feet wide) with short cylindrical wooden legs that don't have wheels on them.

I don't think it would slip off. It looks like they don't just sit on top, but there is a little "dugout" that they sit in. At the bottom of the page, there are wooden bed raisers as well, and they have little dugout nook-type holes the legs would fit into. I think it's a great idea to make space for under-bed storage.

I've had some (not the powered ones, but a similar shape/material). The bed won't slide off. (Don't think we didn't try!;)) I used them on hardwood and also carpet without a problem.

7 inches is a lot higher than it sounds. You might want to pick your bed up 7 seven inches (stick some books under the legs) and see if you like the height before you order.

There may or may not have been a crash in my past involving a twin bed that collapsed as the bed boards slid off the rails.

The bed won't slide off. (Don't think we didn't try!;))

Oh my... :blush::blush::blush:

Seeingeyes - you were right! 7 inches *is* pretty high! We settled on some shorter ones in the end. No accidents to report so far ;)

Wille T - I like your style haha!

Didn't really occur to me that this might be inappropriate for the married couples' forum - I just though of it as a practical home improvements question - but I guess it does have potential to go awry!
