I was so psyched when I heard my church was going to be going on a mission in December and I was pumped to sign up. I figured it would cost $2,500- $3,000 and was happy to hear it will only be about $1,500.
So I started to save up, first thing is to get my passport. $160.00. Not hard. I'll have to start working sooner than planned to start saving money (I currently stay home with my baby) but I couldn't have been more excited.
Then I started wondering if I wanted to go to make a difference in their life, or to make one in my own. I mean honestly speaking wouldn't that $1,500 be better off just being given directly to an organization that fed these children. I wont be spreading the word necessarily, we are going to help build a recreational building for some kids in South America. A good cause but is it as needed as other causes?
So now, what made me so excited just a few days ago has left me wondering if I should go after all or if I should continue saving and perhaps just donate the money. Any opinions or ideas?

Why can't you go to make a difference in both your life and theirs. I am sure that they would rather see you and know that you love them then to see money from a stranger. Our time is the most expensive thing that we can spend. Go on the trip, show God's love, have fun, and don't let Satan try to sow doubt into your mind on this.
