  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I Was Wondering If It Was Okay For Anglicans To Use An Orthodox Prayer Rope?
+Cam:crossrc:

In my opinion you can use it. A prayer rope is nothing more than a tool to help us with our prayers. It shouldn't have to matter which religion it is from.

I am Eastern Orthodox and I use the orthodox prayer rope, but in my last vacation I forgot my Prayer Rope, so I bought a Catholic Rosary and used it in my vacation for praying. I marked it with some tape after each 33rd bead (like with my Orthodox Prayer rope), to signal when to do my prostrations.

I still have it as a backup, I did ask my pastor to bless it, because that gives me a comforting feeling. When I asked him about if it is wrong he reassured my thoughts I already had, that it is just a tool to guide us in prayer, but that it is a good idea to bless it.
