Sadly many people who identify as christian know the verse. But do not believe it, they believe it takes more than belief in Jesus to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life.

I wonder what tim tebow, if telling a person how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation. Would actually say does he add to John 3:16 other actions like repentance etc..

My gut response is to note that his foundation has walked the walk for many years now and his ministry certainly seems to bear the mark of God's blessing, so it would be perplexing to discover if the Gospel they are sharing is somehow deficient.

Here's a progress report in what I've found so far. Though I haven't finished perusing his site, I have yet to find a doctrinal statement to address your concern. Which one would think would be a necessary inclusion to a mission dedicated to reaching the lost, right?

The opinion piece includes a vid of Tim preaching from around 2009/2010. The critic's contention is that Tim indeed neglects to preach the necessity of repentance. In addition, he points out some other elements that he contends are unscriptural, some of which, imho, I emphatically do not agree with.

So, like I said, this is a progress report only. I won't have the opportunity to actually view the vid until later today, but again invite you and others to weigh in in the meantime.

I looked on the website of Tebow's that you linked to. Did not see anything, which is my thinking is. If how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation like John 3:16 state's by only belief in Jesus.

If this message is a top priority for someones ministry, then it would be the main focus of the ministry and have the top place on ones website. It would not be like going on an easter egg hunt searching for this good news.

So looks like he is more focused on this traffic situation and other areas. Too bad, as here is someone who is probably getting 1000's of visitors to his website daily or at least monthly. That could easily be exposed to the good news. that God is offering His free gift of Eternal Life salvation to all who will believe in Jesus.

Then tebow could easily have a further explanation of what believing in Jesus means. Which is believing that Jesus is who He says He is The son of God the promised Messiah, the resurrection and the life. Then add a few verses from The Gospel of John like

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

There is no doubt that Tim's Foundation is doing good work. But where is the concern for the eternal souls of those being ministered to?

Tim claims to be a Christian. So why is the Gospel nowhere to be found on the website, Facebook, YouTube or elsewhere?

Tim is famous for his astonishing promotion of John 3:16 in his football years. So why isn't he preaching it? Including the fact that those rescued from the evil in this world are nevertheless still headed to Hell unless they repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?
