[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Can anyone please recommend any fairly reputable ONLINE seminaries? They don't have to be accredited. I would like to teach in a church or work for a ministry once I am done.

It is a diploma mill, but what are you looking for? There are some exceptional online programs, but they are few and far between. Most are worthless.

If you simply want to learn, visit a very good university bookstore and read the books yourself. If you want the degree you will likely have to put in the time, effort, and money in a brick and mortar building.

Unless you need the degree, I would not stress it.

You can get a good theological education online. I usually recommend Liberty University's Seminary (which is the best ran online seminary program and they're regionally accredited), Piedmont International University (nationally accredited, has online programs, and they now offer a M.A. in Ministry for under $3,000 that can be done through your church - a friend told me about this the other day), Tennessee Temple University (which is beginning to offer programs online), and Baptist Bible College in PA (which has great programs and is also beginning to branch into online programs). Another seminary that you might want to look into is Western Seminary in Oregon. I know they've been offerings some online coursework as well.

Just want to give a shout out to Liberty University. I think Ive done some extensive checking into them and they are regionally accredited which can be very important. They have proffesors their such as Tim Lahaye the co author of the left behind series and Ed Hinson who has wrote many doctrinally sound books. Im starting online there this semester and you can do seminary with them. I believe for the seminary degree though you have to make a short trip there at some point. Have not looked that far ahead yet.

Sadly many christian educational facilities are really little more then places of greed like all the state ran schools. Does it really cost 300 dollars a class. Lets see a normal class is 3 hours a week for 12 weeks, 36 hours and 25 to 30 students. 25X300=7500per class room. That is actually around 8.33 per student hour. Sadly the education is worth about 10cents a hour today. 7500 times 500 classes = 3,750,000 million. You can see they people with low moral ofter become educators. That is a lot of money for doing very little. I have been thinking about starting a online university.

Mines actually about $1000 per class for 4 8 week classes. I think its more than worth it though for the quality of biblical education Liberty provides. I have been skimming my text books and they seem very top notch. Ive heard only a few bad testimonies about Liberty. 90% of the people that are going or graduated that I have talked to have very little bad speak of the education or professors.

I've been enrolled at Northwestern for a while now. I wouldn't recommend it.

I as well would caution anyone from spending anytime or money at Northwestern Theological Seminary. It has been the most frustrating experience that I can remember. Their lack of communication is atrocious. For a school that is a Christian institution they should be ashamed of how they treat their students.

You might want to check out Knox Theological Seminary or Reformed Theological Seminary. Both offer MA distance learning programs that appear to be pretty robust.

Grace and peace,

I am considering Liberty. Does anyone know if they have any type of application fee waiver or any need based grants. I am really leaning toward them... They seem very reputable and they do have summer semester courses I may still be able to get into. I just can not afford the application fee at this time and will need some type of need based scholarship to cover costs.

Why not just contact them directly and explain your situation.
