Ge 3:
Ge 4:
In the case of Adam, God cursed the ground, and Adam would have to work hard as a farmer. For Cain, God cursed him directly. He could no longer be a farmer, and he changed his job to raise animals.
Adam ate the forbidden fruit, disobeying a direct commandment of God.17 To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’
God cursed the ground, not Adam directly.cursed is the ground because of you;
Adam would have to work hard to grow food as a farmer.in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.
Ge 4:
Cain killed Abel.2b Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground.
God cursed Cain, not the ground directly.10 The Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground. 11 And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
Cain could no longer farm the land for food.12 When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield to you its strength.
He had to run away from his domicile.You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”
Cain's descendants:16 Then Cain went away from the presence of the Lord and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. 17 Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.
It seemed that Cain and his descendants raised animals as a living.20 Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.
