Dank Demoss, who’s described herself as a BBW — “big beautiful woman” — walked into the New York City studio and sat down in a wheeled office chair before the interview started and she immediately looked uncomfortable and let the crew know it.

“This the only seat y’all got?” Demoss, who also goes by Dajua Blanding, asks earnestly.

Host Charlamagne tha God and others then pulled a couch over for the Detroit native, who donned a one-piece with a cutout in the front and an orange jacket to the interview.

“This is what I’m talking about. Good. This is accommodation,”

“Bigger people should be accommodated just like we accommodate the LGBT community,” Demoss added.

She was asked why should people have to accommodate her and simply retorted “Why not?”

She then went on Instagram later to post:

Dank Demoss, on Instagram: "THANK YOU TO MY LAWYERS MARKO & ZACH RUNYAN! FIGHTING FOR MY COMMUNITY MY PEOPLE AND MAKING CHANGE TO THE WORLD.

She's not honestly equating a circumstance of choice with a circumstance of birth, is she?

Of all of the various movements to "normalize" various things, the "Fat pride"/"Healthy at any size, this should be protected" one probably is the most concerning as there are direct (and severe) health consequences for it.

You know we use to regard 'pride' as a vice and not a virtue. Maybe that is part of the problem that we take to much pride in ourselves as though we are gods. Now I wonder who was the first to try that.

But in terms of reality this ideology is destructive. Notice how its all about something broken, pulled apart, cut off, destroyed and never builtup or positive.

Trans want kids to be pumped with chemicals that permanately harm them, make them infertile and cut off body parts. Feminist want to break up marriages and families, obese people want to celebrate being grossly unhealthy.

How can an ideology that is suppose to bring happy, fullfilling and a positive side to life be classed as good and woirth celebrating when its full of destruction, hate and misery. Do they realise this. Is it all worth it. Surely any alternative is better. Is that the hill you want to be miserable about and die on. Is persoanl liberty worth the price of admission.

Notice how its about a subjective feeling or belief about self which seems to trump reality. This is what we use to call a psychological disorder. Now we are promoting mental illness and celebrating it.

PS; A number of plus size social influencers have died at young agers. Some even posting that they regretted promoting such ideas before they died after realising that they were actually digging their own graves in reality.

This exact idea was reflected with young trans kids who came out and were celebrated even on talk shows as something good ("Desmond is amazing" and "I am Jazz" are a couple). Only to find out that many were being exploited and that they actually had other psychological problems. Yet it was celebrated by society.

I'm waiting for people to start getting reverse liposuction surgery. "I'm a fat person trapped in a thin body".
There are people who suffer from being too thin, either because of an underlying health issue or because they are recovering from anorexia. People suffering from cancer also rapidly lose weight.

There are special food supplements that offer a high caloric density for people like that.

I see no problem with her being made comfortable during her final years.

Usually, that "comfort" comes in the form of an imposition to others.

That aside, this is really an issue that Democrats should be at the forefront of (and take a firm stand on) if they're going to maintain a "we're the party of science and public health" image.

They scolded anyone who wasn't listening to the medical science community during covid
They've done quite a bit of pearl clutching over the RFK Jr appointment on the basis of "what could this do to public health?"
They've long advocated for switching to a publicly funded version of healthcare coverage

Yet, they seem to either give a pass to this kind of stuff and either remain silent on it, or even worse, they give lip-service to the "Fat Pride" movement because they see people in that movement is a pool of "potential allies" on other issues.

Where does one find these little outrage nuggets?
The MSN news feed that opens when you launch Microsoft Edge lol

But I do think people have a right to be irked about this sort of stuff.

If we're going to have a serious conversation actually moving to some sort of centralized healthcare system where we all chip in. "Fat" can't be an identity or point of pride.

It also makes us (as a nation) extra susceptible to other things.

Covid was a good example of that. Over 80% of the people who were hospitalized or died of covid were obese.

In terms of morbidity and hospitalization risk, a thin unvaccinated person is less at risk than a vaccinated person who's pushing 350.
(the same goes for influenza, even if we don't get another "covid-like" event...just the regular old flu)

  • Weakened Immune Response – Obesity can impair the immune system’s ability to fight infections, making it harder for the body to recover from the flu.
  • Respiratory Complications – Obesity can restrict lung expansion and make it more difficult to clear mucus, increasing the risk of pneumonia and other respiratory complications.
  • Increased Hospitalization and ICU Admissions – Studies have found that people with obesity are 7x more likely to be hospitalized and require intensive care if they contract the flu.
  • Reduced Vaccine Effectiveness – Research suggests that flu vaccines may be less effective in people with obesity due to altered immune responses.

There were a lot of conversations about "herd immunity" regarding vaccinations. What happens when a person is deliberately doing something to themselves that makes the vaccine they're getting less effective? That's an externality, right?

If people were going to criticize the Joe Rogan types for not getting one, on the grounds that "it's not about you...what if you infect someone else???"... would that same logic not apply to a person who's doing something that's lessening the efficacy of their vaccines?
