If you "can't" go to Divine Mercy Sunday

Here I go again. I might not be able to go to Divine Mercy Sunday, even though I'm going to try to go to regular Mass. This is kind of sad. I see my devotion waning because of circumstances. I'm still thankful I went to Easter Vigil but still.

Anyone who hasn't gone, what do you do to "make up" for it? I could say the Divine Mercy Chaplet myself (I hate to sound bad but I find it annoying the way my parish sings it anyway), but I'd be missing out on the Homily and Confession.

To be honest, the DMC (Divine Mercy Chaplet) has never interested me (I am truly sorry, I do not intend to offend). My comment is knowingly subjective. It does not hit the spot for me. I prefer a decade of the Rosary than the entire DMC but as I said, I am stating an opinion.

However, I think my post is "copium." I'm trying to find ways to "look critically" at this because internally, I wish I could be going. I highly doubt it will work out for me tomorrow.

If I can’t go, I often catch it on EWTN. But that does not help with the confession aspect of it.
It doesn't, but I find ways to fenagle a confession at a different time if I have to.

Yeah I was going to mention that.
9 times out of 10 though, it's after Mass and I "never" can get the Eucharist for weeks. There was only one time where the priest offered me the Eucharist after everyone else had left.

Have you told your priests about your situation at home?

I have told one, outside the confines of normal confession time (but while I was confessing to him) but he's from a parish I don't belong to, and I could be one of those "out of sight, out of mind" people because of how busy he is.

During the regular confession times (oddly enough, I can't make those very easily), I do mention the fact that I'm a caretaker for my dad and that his personality is insufferable and is an affront to my faith devotion, but during those confession times, it is highly encouraged to just mention the sin so that absolution can be obtained. No real connection can be made in that scenario.

If I were you, I’d either find a spiritual director I could talk to and make it a point to inform your priests of the situation at home.

I don't pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, but I always try to pray the Rosary, that's something not to miss.

I agree for my case at least, I just wish I wasn't missing it anyway. I don't think I did it after my Confirmation because I was unaware that it was a thing (the Sunday thing), but I went in 2023 and 2024 I think. I wanted to be more consistent in doing it (going to DM Sunday) even though I'm not a fan of the DVM.

(Once again I'm not trying to look inappropriate by saying that)
