The problem with living in a small town is that there aren't many opportunities to meet new people. So I need to know how I could find places involving my interests where I could meet new people. I tried Google, but didn't get much out of it.

Does your church offer any activities? If not, perhaps visit a few different churches in your area to meet new people. I know some people use meetup to join different activities, but I personally haven’t used it. Say a prayer and ask God’s help in meeting new people. :)

You ask how you could find places involving your interests to meet people. That begs the question then, Exactly what are your interests? I see that you are a Baptist in the US so I'll assume there's at least one Baptist Church in your area. Are the interests to which you refer not ones concerning church? Is it a church environment you seek or something else?

In a small town meeting people for dating might be difficult. This is usually done through widening a general circle of friends and acquaintances. Thia can be done through church, the volunteer fire department, or asking at a retirement home if there are programs like reading to the elderly. The more people you meet and can serve, the more likely it is that they may know someone that they might introduce to you..

This one on one approach allows people to get to know you and evaluate your character. If they like what they see, they might be inclined to introduce you to others. Small towns are based on relationships and getting known and knowing others is key. You might not find someone involved with your interests, you might have to show an interest in theirs or be willing to learn new ones.

I agree and I used to be in a somewhat similar situation as the OP in the past with limited number of people I can be friends with so my only choice was to show interest in theirs and willing to learn new ones. It works quite well if you can adopt genuine interest in other people's interests.

Another option is to create your own group and invite and teach people to your interests.

For example if your hobby is "papercrafting", you can invite people to give lessons to those interested in the hobby.

Ofc, this is just an example and it's a lot easier said than done especially for introverts like myself.

I guess if the OP is considering the option to teach his interests to others, I think a good thing to do is just be yourself. If you think you're terrible at speaking to an audience then stay terrible! Just don't let your audience fall asleep. From time to time you drop a "grenade" (figuratively speaking) to shock those who are about to lose consciousness back to being wide awake and alert. It can be humor or any random loud noise like "accidentally" bumping the table or "accidentally" dropping something on the floor that makes a loud noise.
