A U.S. Navy SEAL who was denied a religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine mandate under the Biden administration featured as a witness during Attorney General Pam Bondi's first meeting of the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias in the Federal Government earlier this week.

Navy SEAL Phil Mendes was among the several Navy special warfare officers who joined a lawsuit from First Liberty Institute after being relieved of duty for refusing the vaccine and denied a religious exemption from the U.S. Department of Defense, according to a press release.

Hiram Sasser, who serves as executive general counsel for First Liberty Institute, told The Christian Post that their organization was honored their former client was given the chance "to testify and tell the story of what all the SEALs suffered under the Biden administration in terms of their religious objections to the vaccine mandate."

"Religious" exemption for vaccines? This is just sheer madness. I am sure there are lots of kids that want a "religious" exemption for final exams, but saner minds will refuse that exemption.

Nothing anti-Christian about insisting on vaccination when the proper channels have approved the vaccine. I'd be interested to see a biblical defence of this man's position.

But common sense should have prevailed here. SEALs and, indeed, soldiers generally are mainly fit and in a young age group. They do not die of things like COVID. That the DoD insisted on this was overreach.

Being healthy and physically fit is no guarantee a person won't get severe complications from COVID. Especially the earlier strains.

The DoD insists on vaccinations all the time. It's part of maintaining readiness. They can't afford to have lots of soldiers fall ill with long COVID or something like that.

Well vaccines and final exams aren't the same thing, but having served in the USMC,
they gave me lots of shots that I didn't know how they were developed or approved.

Back in 2020, my grandson who is in the Navy, couldn't even talk to his recruiter before getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Today, the COVID-19 vaccine necessity is debatable, but smarter minds will have to decide if it's necessary for
military personal to get it.
