I have a christian friend, that I know from the internet. We met about 20 years ago in an Christian forum.

I have noticed she posts on Facebook little pictures of Witches and broomsticks (this is outside Halloween)
and talks about flying on her broom, or watch out when I put my witches hat on etc.

This has been going on for many years now.

She told me she isn't into witchcraft yet she continues to post this comical drawings of little witches, etc and talks about flying on her broomstick.

Her christian posts have lessened a great deal, she only talks about prayer in regards to God finding her another partner.
She divorced her husband some years ago. She does have a hot temper and often talks about this.
When I was trying to support her to stand for her marriage, she got quite aggressive with me.
She had showed me posts she had sent her husband, who was cheating on her
She had wished him dead and told him his father was useless(he had just died)
I know you can get heated when you are in debates like that but wishing someone dead is a sin.

She turned on me aggressively and started attacking me when I told her to pray about her broken marriage.

That was some years ago.
I let it go and probably didn't have a right to say that to her. I apologised.

I continue to love and support her and pray for her.

She also celebrates Halloween and talks about 'little goblins walking around the neighbourhood

What are your thoughts?

Not knowing her, all I can say is that she seems to have some strange ideas about what being a Christian actually means. Does she know the Lord Jesus Christ? (Not just know about Him.) I hope she does and suggest you continue to pray for her/

There are some people who "play: at being one thing or another. They can put on a role to please themselves and play to an audience. Sometimes these people can put on a "show" of being a Christian or sometimes they can adopt a different role. I don't know if your friend is one of these, but they can cause confusion.

"Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." I John 3:15
(Applies to political candidates, too).

"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil." Eph 4:26-27 Some believers don't believe this verse but it's there.

When we don't follow Almighty God's wisdom, we give place to the enemy.

Realize you apologized to keep the peace with her earlier.

Definitely continue to pray for her and she does need support based on Scripture.

That is getting attention. How much does she call attention to Jesus?

A person can be Satanic without being a witch or knowingly being a Satan worshiper.
She does have a hot temper and often talks about this.
A hot temper . . . Satanic. Does she talk about this and ask for prayer for God to correct her?

Jesus makes us all-loving, with hope for any evil person, not giving up on anyone > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7).
She turned on me aggressively and started attacking me when I told her to pray about her broken marriage.
And pray "for" her husband. Have hope "for" him, in prayer "for" him.

On the cross Jesus *prayed*, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (in Luke 23:34)

And Jesus says, "if you love those who love you, what reward have you?" in Matthew 5:46.

So, yes, I now need to pray for her. She is not loving the way Jesus has us love; so . . . if she has trusted Jesus to save her, she is engaged to Jesus and so *she* is cheating on Jesus if she is having a relationship with hate and ill tempered stuff in her. So, we pray for her now, with hope for all that is possible with God. And we pray for her husband.
That was some years ago.

If you are my sister in Jesus, you do not only have some "right" to tell me how I need to do what is good; you *are* right, even to confront me if you can see how I am wrong. And I will hear Jesus' voice, if I am a sheep.

You could ask her. Something like: "I see lots of pictures of witches in your Facebook posts, so I was curious. Do you actually practice Wicca, or are you just having fun with pictures of witches?"

Interesting. There are some people who practice a mix of Christianity and Wicca/new age.

****per the forum rules I’m not promoting or advocating witchcraft, I believe it’s sinful

Thank you, this was in 2019 and she went ahead and divorced her husband. I think she is still angry with me for encouraging her to stand for her marriage and pray for her husband. He remarried his affair partner. She's looking for another partner now.

I sent her a gift some years ago in 2019...She divorced her hsuband and he remarried his affair partner. She's still angry with me, I think because I was encouraing her to stand for her marriage. I was standing for my marriage at the time, too.

Have you read and fed on 1 Peter 3:1-4?
Hi, yes, I am aware of this bible verse. My husband walked out the door after my mother went home to be with the Lord(five months later). My husband divorced me and quickly remarried another lady. I am still standing for my marriage, praying for him and myself...We were married 20 years.

How you are in the sight of God will have a lot to do with what He pleases to do with you . . . for you to discover :)

"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)

How we are can be what we are spreading to make others the same way. Our example in the sight of God, with prayer . . . works how God has this working. And then we can discover who we are sharing with, who we really have a relationship with.

Your husband can come to his senses so he is doing what you are doing, and then you can connect. So, you just be there where he needs to become, and then see what happens . . . even if he does not get with God in real love > you will be able to have genuine love with God and others who have been so corrected by our Father.

Hebrews 12:4-14 > note verse 8.

Narcissistic Behavior Disorder I think is what you are talking about. A lot of very intelligent manipulators out there perform this tactic on real Christian’s. I have dealt with such people. So when ever I sense their behavior, I just ghost them and have God handle it.

You have greatly encouraged my heart and I thank you. You just verified what God has been laying upon my heart lately. Bless you!!

Witchcraft can mean a lot of things. Today it is mostly associated with Wicca. In the Bible it is associated with taking drugs. Some people believe it has to do with controlling and manipulating people.

The Greek word "pharmakeia" (φαρμακεία) appears in the Bible, particularly in the New Testament. It is often translated as "sorcery" or "witchcraft". The word is derived from "pharmakon" (φαρμακον), meaning "drug" or "spell-giving potion". In the context of the Bible, "pharmakeia" refers to the use of magic, potions, and spells, often associated with idolatry and illicit spiritual practices.
