I haven't tried Primonti Bros yet. There is a store in my area. The comments are blowing up on their Facebook page. Weird.

Did Vance receive a menu, toss it to the side and order, "whatever makes sense"? Does he even know how sandwich shops work? They're not too different from donut shops, but he seemed to have some trouble with that.

'And how long have you been serving sandwiches here, ma'am? And you sir? And you? I'll just take a few of these. Ones with bread. With some sort of filling. Whatever makes sense.'

I don't think it was "momentary". They barred Vance, saying they didn't want a campaign event. Harris had already campaigned there though, so that obviously wasn't true. It was that they didn't want Vance in there, just talking to his supporters. Odd to take such a stance when you just sell food. Why not sell to anyone who comes in? Anyway, Vance was good-natured about it, paid their bills and the customers/supporters went out to talk to him in the parking lot.

"Allegheny County Republican Party Chair Sam DeMarco said Sen. Vance made a stop at the restaurant on E. Pittsburgh McKeesport Boulevard to pick up lunch. It was spontaneous, but he said a manager wouldn’t let Vance go inside initially and even threatened to call police.

“Senator Vance was absolutely turned away today,” DeMarco said.

Primanti Bros. CEO Adam Golomb sent a statement trying to clarify, basically saying the staff was caught off guard.

The campaign called a couple of hours ahead of time to order lunch for Vance so he could eat with a few of his supporters before his town hall in Monroeville.

But before Vance even stepped out of his car, DeMarco said Primanti’s manager told them they had to leave and threatened to call police on them if they didn’t leave.

“I believe the manager overreacted, either a misinterpretation or confusion, but she wouldn’t allow the Senator to come into the restaurant,” said DeMarco.

That’s when DeMarco said the Ohio senator greeted and shook hands with people outside in the restaurant’s parking lot.

“After that he then went in, paid the bill for everybody there, left a generous tip, and then he came out and he was very gracious,” he said.

A video taken by a visitor and later posted to X shows Vance had no hard feelings about the situation."

I've been to a Primanti Bros before...meh...I don't get the hype.

In the Greater Cleveland area, we have Slyman's Deli :)
They were featured on a food channel program ( maybe Guy Fieri) or. I thought it looked interesting. Next thing I know, they opened a store in the Dayton area. Never been there. Thanks for the review.

I'd like an omelette, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce, and a cup of coffee. Now all you have to do is hold the chicken, bring me the toast, give me a cheque for the chicken salad sandwich.

In my experience, the original downtown Cleveland location "hits different" (IE: better lol), than the satellite locations, but the other locations may have worked out a few of the kinks. Maybe there's something about food that's been cooked on a cooking surface that's had 40 years worth of other sandwiches cooked on it that you just can't replicate in a new location lol

A couple of hours ahead seems to be plenty of time for an establishment to make adjustments. So maybe take that into considerations before assuming people's capacity to understand how eateries work.

So basically an Omakase. I don't see anything wrong or unintelligent about it. Maybe you with your foreknowledge of the food offering will never need for a chief's recommendations.

As a consumer I believe you have the prerogative to patronize any establishments. However my friendly advise is not let politics be the main determining factor. As long as they don't mind your politics, treat them the same in fair return. Life will be cheerier for all.

'Hey, friend - give me two dozen mixed. You made these yourself? Well, you choose thanks. But throw in a few strawberry ones. My team just loves those. And hey, you a Braves fan? They did ok this year I think. You go to the games?'

I mean, if you're doing a stop with cameras and you don't want to look like a Klutz then get a heads up from your minders about possible talking points so that you look like you're up to speed with what people might be interested in. This is Politics On The Road 101.

It's definitely not a determining factor. Otherwise , I wouldn't have Google for my phone, or Microsoft on my computers. If we are in the neighborhood of Primonti Bros we will probably still check it out for ourselves.

So your umbrage is basically on how he construct his sentences and talking points.
