I expect people to donate to the campaign of his opponent. I expect people to volunteer to help the opposition. I expect people to get out of the house in November and vote. I expect people to be vocal about what they think a Trump presidency would entail. I expect honestly and passion. And I expect the democratic process to be upheld.

Really? You don't see how rhetoric that calls Trump an existential threat to our country could inspire a nut job?

I don't expect people to already claim that if they lose it will be fraudulent and others to threaten civil war. And I do expect that everyone should call out those who do. But hey, that's more in hope than expectation.

You really should watch the end of the video I posted and look at all of the "peaceful protests" that resulted from Democrats going on a media tour telling everyone that Trump stole the election, was an illegitimate president, cheated, and only one because "Russia hacked our election™".

In 2018, TWO YEARS after the election, 67% of Democrats still believed the conspiracy theory that Russia hacked our election despite no credible evidence.

I know we're all supposed to pretend like Democrats are the stalwart upholders of our democracy, but reality proves differently.

He is a threat. He's a threat to women's reproductive rights. He's a threat to the equality of income. He's a threat to education. A threat to peace in Europe, a threat to NATO, a threat to global warming and a threat to the world economy. Everything within the democratic process should be brought to bear to prevent his election. Anything outside of that process must be condemned.

Have you ever experienced deja vu? I mean, this is the same kind of apocalyptic rhetoric we heard in 2016. Remarkably, we all survived. Crazy.

Here's what Jon Stewart said in his return to The Daily Show earlier this year.

"All the attention paid to the election in the next nine months is going to "make you feel like Tuesday, November 5, is the only day that matters. And that day does matter, but, man, November 6 ain't nothing to sneeze at or November 7. If your guy loses, bad things might happen, but the country is not over. And if your guy wins, the country is in no way saved."

Please tell me that's not the limit of your political criticism. Please tell me you have something more than posting some juvenile comments from Sky.

I do not need to post any more. The democratic voters spoke very clear in 2020 what they think of a president kamala harris. A total of 129 votes in NH and 715 votes in AR in her bid to be the democratic president candidate.

You going to mail in your vote.

I don't think Trump really wanted the presidency in the first place. He just wanted to win the presidency. He had no interest in politics. And still doesn't. But the people hanging onto his coat tails do want the presidency.

In his first term there were plenty of people who keep tags on him. And I'm not going to waste my time giving the numerous negative quotes about him from people who worked directly with him. They are legion and we're all aware of them. But now there are very many of those who realised what an opportunity they'd missed the first time around. And now they are preparing.

As Bolton once said: '“I hope [history] will remember him as a one-term president who didn’t plunge the country irretrievably into a downward spiral,” Bolton said in an interview with ABC News.“We can get over one term. I have absolute confidence. … Two terms, I’m more troubled about.”

To paraphrase a certain lobbying group, rhetoric doesn't kill people, people kill people.

Nut jobs can be inspired by all kinds of things, even the neighbor's dog.

They are allowed to voice their opinions, same as everyone else. Granted, any protesters who aren't peaceful should be arrested, but they still have the right to express their opinions.

In 2018, TWO YEARS after the election, 67% of Democrats still believed the conspiracy theory that Russia hacked our election despite no credible evidence.
Well, to be fair, there is some evidence. Whether or not you consider it credible is your business, though.

But, by comparison, pretty much all Trump supporters still believe the 2020 election was stolen, despite no evidence whatsoever....credible or otherwise.

So what?

I know we're all supposed to pretend like Democrats are the stalwart upholders of our democracy, but reality proves differently.
Well, no one is claiming the Democratic Party is perfect, but at least democrats didn't create false sets of electors and try to have them replace the legitimate ones, nor did the leader of the party call upon a state official to "find" enough votes to declare them the winner, despite having lost.

-- A2SG, so, there's that....

I can see that describing Trump as, for example, 'America's Hitler' might be the kind of rhetoric to which you'd object.

Maybe '"This man is a pathological liar. He doesn't know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth."

How about '"He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.'

I wonder if these comments might prompt some nut job to take action to save the country from the man as described above. By three prominent Republicans.

Agreed. But this is the same line of reasoning people give for saying Trump "incited" January 6. As I pointed out, Trump actually said this:

We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.

-Donald Trump

People here have said that Trump encouraged physical violence, but that's simply not true.

They are allowed to voice their opinions, same as everyone else. Granted, any protesters who aren't peaceful should be arrested, but they still have the right to express their opinions.

But they don't have the right to literally set cities on fire.

Well, to be fair, there is some evidence. Whether or not you consider it credible is your business, though.

"Russian interference" is not remotely the same thing as Russia "hacking" our elections as many Democrats said.

But, by comparison, pretty much all Trump supporters still believe the 2020 election was stolen, despite no evidence whatsoever....credible or otherwise.

So what?

Just pointing out that Republicans aren't the only ones believing in conspiracy theories, nor are they alone in questioning perfectly valid election results.

Well, no one is claiming the Democratic Party is perfect, but at least democrats didn't create false sets of electors and try to have them replace the legitimate ones, nor did the leader of the party call upon a state official to "find" enough votes to declare them the winner, despite having lost.

No, instead they've put forth a candidate for President that literally NO ONE voted for. The old bait-and-switch. And I know you're perfectly OK with it, but there are still some people who can see that there is absolutely nothing democratic about what is going on right now.

That's a hard sell from a party that actively hid Biden's cognitive decline from the world for over 3 years.

How about '"He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.'

Sure.

That's not all he said. He did urge his followers to "fight like hell, or you're not going to have a country any more."

Whether this meets the legal standard of inciting a riot would need to be established in a court of law, though.

But they don't have the right to literally set cities on fire.

Depends on what is meant by interference, I suppose.

Just pointing out that Republicans aren't the only ones believing in conspiracy theories, nor are they alone in questioning perfectly valid election results.
True. They're the only ones who stormed the Capitol, tried to replace legitimate electors with false ones, or tried to coerce a state official to "find" enough votes, though. So, there's that.

No, instead they've put forth a candidate for President that literally NO ONE voted for.
The GOP inaugurated a president who never ran for office at all back in 1974.

The old bait-and-switch. And I know you're perfectly OK with it, but there are still some people who can see that there is absolutely nothing democratic about what is going on right now.
And yet, the voters will decide the issue come November.

I wonder if any other politicians have ever uttered the phrase "fight like hell".

No one said anyone does.

But that's what they did. There were violent riots in the streets when Trump was elected, fueled by Democrats running around saying that Trump "stole the election".

Depends on what is meant by interference, I suppose.

We're not going back to the Clinton era to re-litigate the word "is", are we? By no objective definition did Russia "hack our election" in 2016.

True. They're the only ones who stormed the Capitol, tried to replace legitimate electors with false ones, or tried to coerce a state official to "find" enough votes, though. So, there's that.

Did they actually try that? I mean, I'll give you that they are the only ones who carried out their rioting at the Capitol, but the rest has been pretty exaggerated.

The GOP inaugurated a president who never ran for office at all back in 1974.

Great. I wasn't even born until 3 years later.

And yet, the voters will decide the issue come November.

Yes. For the first time ever, Harris will have people vote for her in a national election.

KAMALA HARRIS RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT FROM NIKKI HALEY VOTERS PAC

View attachment 352101
The political action committee (PAC) for former Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley pushed its support to Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid just hours after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

The PAC, formally known as Haley Voters for Biden, now features Harris’ name, with a goal of uplifting the voices of former Haley supporters who support Harris’ White House campaign, Newsweek reports.

The group’s leader, Craig Snyder, said in a statement they believe Harris “is best suited to defeat Donald Trump in November.” “A tough former prosecutor, the Vice President comes from the centrist wing of the Democratic Party, not its left-most fringe,” he said. “For Haley voters, all of this puts the Vice President in a sweet spot for them to register their ongoing opposition to [former] President Trump.”

The PAC shared Biden’s endorsement of Harris on X and changed its profile header. In the post, the group encouraged Harris to “select a moderate VP.” Its Democratic gubernatorial recommendations included Roy Cooper (NC), Andy Beshear (KY), and Josh Sahpiro (PA).

The group said, “We support @JoeBiden’s recommendation and will immediately change the name of our organization to Haley Voters for Harris,”

Wow, her campaign is gaining momentum by the hour, she has already raised more than 100 million in donations in this short time. In less than 48 hours she has already locked up more than 50% of delegates needed to win the nomination. The energy and enthusiasm on the Democratic side is amazing.

And the reality is that Nikki Haley has sent cease and desist to the PAC for using her name.

The letter demands that the group stop using Haley's name, image, or likeness, asserting that such use implies her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, which Haley has explicitly denied.
In a press statement, the PAC acknowledged the press reports about the legal threat and promised to review the letter with their legal counsel upon receipt. They emphasized their mission to rally former Haley supporters around Harris, highlighting their independence from Haley’s official campaign. "Our rights to engage with voters and encourage them to vote for Vice President Harris – who in our view is the clear better choice for the country – will not be suppressed," the statement declared.

Of course she did.

But this former Haley supporting PAC did endorse Harris, right?

I have mixed feeling about this. Seems like you should be able to name your group as Formerly _____ Supporting. Free speech and all.

That does not alter the reality of the endorsement.
Only in the fact that Nikki Haley does not in any way endorse or support Kamala Harris. Her name and image is being used illegally.

How about if we find a megga donor and start a PAC called Biden supporters for Trump? Would that be ok? It would not alter the reality of the endorsement.

Proves Haley is part of the uniparty.
