That's hardly surprising, as evolutionary theory is assumed and stated as fact in most educational establishments (at least, that is the case here in the UK). It's then wrongly assumed that there are no scientists who believe in creation.
There are scientists who stoutly maintained tobacco
is harmless.
There are people who believe all kinds of things.
There could well be splendid chemists, say,
who are yecs.
However- since intellectual / scientific integrity
in matters related to evolution has to date proved
to be impossible for yecs, it can be misleading to say
there " yec scientist" as if their existence lends significance to their beliefs.
The " list of 1000 yec scientidts" doesn't have much in
the way of people who work in fields related to evolution. People do value their integrity.
Those few who evidently do not - such as bought and
paid tobacco researchers- are deserving of no respect
Too, there are innocent but rather pathetic individuals
who cannot handle the cognitive dissonance of belief
against all evidence.
To again quote a Dr. K. wise, PhD paleontology:
" ...even if all the data in the universe is against yec I will still be yec as that is what the Bible appears to?indicate."
