  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The History of the “Two Laws” Theory in Romans 3:20

I agree with the later assessment. For many years I was confused by the separation of kinds of law theory. But I began to notice by the reading of scripture that the Jews, Jesus, and the apostles all considered the law as a unified whole. Examples: James wrote "if you break one, you break the...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

Your erroneous hermeneutic speaks volumes. I'm done here. You're now on ignore.

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

Physical death reigned in mankind through the one, because he was cast out of Eden, being denied access to the Tree of Life. Spiritual death reigned in mankind through the one, because we inherited the sin nature. There is nothing in here but presumption to say that Adam's sin was imputed...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

It looks to me like you're arguing semantics here, so I think this part is done.

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

Can you give examples of what you are talking about, with your explanation? What positions are you referring to? Actually, this statement is in Acts 17 by Paul in Athens (17:30). "All men everywhere" is referring to Gentiles, since only the Jews in OT times were called to repentance. So by...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

Again, you contradict yourself (although avoiding the issue), so I'll ask you again: when Paul said in 7:9 "I was alive once", does he mean he was spiritually alive? If you claim, no, he only thought he was alive, then you are not interpreting it literally. It looks like you didn't even read...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

You're completely missing my point! I never said the doctrine of imputation of sin was in error. I'm merely asking questions that require an exegesis in explaining, because I'm skeptical. What I object to is that your reasoning is circular. You keep asserting that Rom. 5 is talking about...

    The Brokenness of Christianity

I'm with you all the way on this. Yet, "non-denominational" is also a label on a box (it's a category in a list).

    FBI Artic Frost targeting Conservatives

If the public doesn't care about holding law enforcement accountable for what they do, it's a prime atmosphere for tyranny. This is why there are laws about limiting search (and wiretapping) only to those cases where a crime is suspected because there is a probable cause. Hearsay, slanders...

    The Brokenness of Christianity

It is said among Jews: if you put 10 Jews in a room to discuss an issue, there will be 15 different opinions. This, of course, is a joke, indicating that Jews have generally accepted the fact that everyone has their own opinion about things, having different perspectives. It doesn't make any of...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

You seem to contradict yourself here. You say that spiritual life is reality, but then you say "Paul thought he was spiritually alive" - this is how you are interpreting 7:9 - "Paul thought..." is not literally alive. Therefore, your interpretation of the text "I was alive" is not literal...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

I do not agree with your assessment of my response. When I said, "it doesn't say that," the implication is that it is not teaching the doctrine of imputation in that verse. So then, your assessment is a fallacy, since you are assuming that my response was merely because the term "impute" was not...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

So, if you aren't using "alive" figuratively, then what exactly does it mean? I'm taking it to mean he was spiritually alive. It looks like you are saying it means psychologically "alive", that it's a point of view, that since he is ignorant of guilt, he doesn't feel condemned. Is this your...

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

I'm the one asking the question. All I'm doing is objecting to your assertions. I asked for an exegesis in the OP, or a link to one. Can you give me one?
