  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

The purpose of the statue of St. James is to bow down and worship at it. That's the idolatry and sin. If it was merely art, then people would not be kneeling before it. Furthermore, the fact that the leaders persecuted the man who refused to kneel before it, thus declaring it's mere art and...

WHY PAULS GOSPEL THE MOST IMPORTANT GOSPEL. IN THE WORLD. !!

You're contradicting the clear verse that says Paul baptized 2 people in Corinth. So I'm out of here.

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

That's a loaded question. If you mean bowing to a statue is equivalent to bowing to God, then the obvious answer is yes, it is, according to Ex. 20:5 "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them."

Ex. 20:4-6 "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting...

Since you keep evading the question, I'm done with you.

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

Evading the question. The point is that kneeling or bowing to an image is what was condemned in the OT, because it stank of polytheism. Just knowing that there is only one true God doesn't excuse bowing to an image, since the act is a witness of what one believes. If you have to explain...

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

I disagree with you for this reason: in the Bible, when someone kneels before a statue (idol), they are committing idolatry. That's obviously the view of the man they persecuted, since he clearly refused to do it. When you claim "it's not worship, it's veneration," you are making a distinction...

WHY PAULS GOSPEL THE MOST IMPORTANT GOSPEL. IN THE WORLD. !!

You didn't answer the question. How do you interpret :14? Paul said he didn't baptize anyone EXCEPT Crispus and Gaius. Does it clearly mean that he baptized those two guys? If you claim no, then you have the burden of proof by exegesis to explain why you don't think it means that. It's not...

WHY PAULS GOSPEL THE MOST IMPORTANT GOSPEL. IN THE WORLD. !!

How do you interpret 1 Cor 1:14 "I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius"? Do you think he did not baptize those 2?

You don't have to make it personal. I was merely stating a fact about those churches in that region, in response to the article you posted. Churches tend to be either biblical or cultic, depending on the leadership.

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

Persecution of Christians is all about politics. Those in power abusing their authority or influence. But my point was to show how hypocritical they are, regardless if they "speak out against" superstitious practices. The fact that they are "managing" it means they tolerate it, and compare that...

Protestant pastor expelled for refusing to participate in Catholic ritual in Mexico

It is interesting that the Catholic churches in Oaxaca persecute a protestant who refuses to worship (venerate) an idol, but those same churches "manage" syncretism with local superstitious practices, including Santeria. Just a few minutes of cursory research reveals this fact.

    What does "covenant" mean?

Essentially, a covenant is like a treaty in that both parties agree to have a friendly relationship with each other. There are a total of 7 different covenants in the OT scriptures between God and men (there are other covenants between people). Covenant is based on "co-vene" which means going...

    Young earth vs Old earth?

When your comments are nonsense, I am addressing the nonsense. If you take it personally, that is your issue. If what you are doing is evading the honest questions about the issue which you actually brought up, then why do you think it's inappropriate for me to confront your evasion? You're...

    Young earth vs Old earth?

Your explanation is nonsense. Why do atheists claim there is no such thing as a miracle? It's because they know that miracles conflict with science. Your response makes me wonder if you actually know the definition of science. Your statement "A miracle isn’t nature breaking its own rules; it’s...
