  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    According to His Great Mercy

I'd like to address this statement from your teaching. There is a right faith and a wrong faith, according to James and by implication, according to the other apostles, especially Paul. The faith of the NT by which we are justified is the faith that is described by Jesus and the apostles in the...

Are people really using AI to post things on here?

I use MS Copilot regularly. It's just a tool to help find things faster than surfing the internet. I use it when searches yield lots of info unrelated to what I'm looking for. I would rather get AI to hone in on my answer than to have to look for a needle in a haystack that I used to do. I also...

    Were you raised Baptist?

Non-denominational is a denomination. It might be called "miscellaneous." Actually, in my distant past, I was raised in several denominations, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Presbyterian, and Baptist. I currently go to a Bible Church, because the main thrust is on what the Bible actually says (as...

    Men's expectations over Jesus

I don't get your point. If you are starting a conversation about Christ with someone, do you start with the doctrine of "Son of Man," or do you start with "Jesus died for our sins"? Otherwise, what's the point of your OP?

    Men's expectations over Jesus

"Joyfully speaking"? You mean "foolishly speaking"? Not sure what you mean. I was merely trying to answer your question from a Biblical standpoint. But in Mk. 4:21, Jesus is speaking to an unbeliever, and the statement is both a basic gospel statement and a test to Pilate to see how he will take...

So there is this guy that I like, but...

And the sooner the better. The more you gather sentiment with him, the stronger the psychological bond, and the more you hurt emotionally at breakup, if that happens. The Bible says, "do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers," which could apply to any area of life, but especially so in...

    Were you raised Baptist?

I was not raised Baptist, but I had close ties with it, and spent some years in Baptist churches. I now attend a Bible Church which is essentially Baptist in doctrine and largely in practice. Sorry for your loss.

    Men's expectations over Jesus

There are OT scriptures in Daniel and other prophets that refer to a "son of man", see Dan. 7 and elsewhere, which are Messianic verses. Just look up "son of man" in a Bible search app. So Jesus, Son of God, (Phil. 2) humbled Himself to become man, so it is also an identification with man (as in...

    Young earth vs Old earth?

I posed this question years ago to anyone who believes in a 6k year old universe: How do you explain historical events in the universe which are observed today, which we see measured or calculated had to have happened long before 6k years? I've read quite a bit of material on attempts to explain...

Best Possible Uses for AI Imagiable

Sounds nice, but I would not have a robot attend to my medical needs, since any mistake could result in death. Robots have no conscience. I saw a video where a robot was supposed to assist a tech on a production line, but stabbed him with a screwdriver. I think AI at best is precarious at this...

There is also potential for evil: https://www.pressrundown.com/top-news/anthropic-ai-model-turned-evil-after-hacking-its-own-training-data?lctg=675f1dc3eef77bb512459560 So it all depends on the moral integrity of the programmers, and their competence in discovering what could go wrong.

Best Possible Uses for AI Imagiable

AI can't do some necessary work for you. It is limited, as its available databases are also limited. No doubt at times there may be wrong information in the web, and AI might give you a bum steer. Choice of words might be critical for AI giving you the "right answer." Therefore you have to have...

    Am I Saved?

The two verses you quoted indicate an ongoing lifestyle, or continuous attitude of repentance. 1 Jn. 3:6-10 is not talking about absolute sinless perfection. Therefore, it's about direction in life, not a state of being. Consider this: the sinful nature causes people to be self-centered. If God...

    Does Regeneration Precede Faith?

I'm no longer going to respond to you, because all you're doing is looking for yet more objections to what I say in complete disregard of the scripture I cite. This means to me that all you want to do is argue about the matter. Consider this my last response. 1. Eph. 2:8 tells us that...

    Does Regeneration Precede Faith?

Part 2: A human rescuer may not be able to save everyone. Then a person who was actually saved will all the more appreciate being saved. If the burning building wasn't bad enough that the situation was desperate enough to kill most people in it, and then everyone was indeed saved, then the...
