The return of Christ in Sept of 2040

In your opinion. Never mind astronomy, what about the historical facts? Historians don't seem to think so. Several online resources give Tiberius' reign from 14 -37 AD. William Barclay, Tom Wright and the IVP Bible commentary agree. John's ministry began in the 15th year of Tiberius' reign...

    Blameless in the Law

True. It requires accepting Jesus. John 1:12, John 6:40, John 14:6, Matthew 26:28, Luke 19:10, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:13. Scripture? He "entangled himself in our sin" to the extent that he sent his spotless Son to be born into a sinful world, and die so that we could be forgiven and reconciled...

Human reading bible does not equal God speaking

Who said it did? And your post does not tie up with the title of your thread, which is; We believe God can speak to us through his word and his Spirit. Neither means that we become God.

    Blameless in the Law

People have minds, and wills, of their own. We can choose to accept Jesus, listen to God, read his word, pray etc, or not. God is love - for a definition of love see 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

The return of Christ in Sept of 2040

Many people say it was on April 3rd, 33AD. John the Baptist began his ministry in the 15th year of Tiberias' reign, Luke 3:1-2 - this was in 29AD. It is not possible for Jesus's crucifixion to have been in 30AD after a 3 year ministry.

The empty tomb was discovered on Sunday; no one knows when Jesus rose.

The return of Christ in Sept of 2040

 That's the trouble with prophesying a certain date - they have to come up with a reason why it didn't happen.

The return of Christ in Sept of 2040

Generally, I don't - which is why I now stay out of the Eschatology forum. We don't know though, do we? That's the whole point of Jesus' teaching and parables. People have always been setting dates - sometimes down to the month and day. All have been wrong. Well if it does happen a lot sooner...

    Monday Mass

Women can celebrate communion in an Anglican church. yes. I doubt that they are taught, or believe, that they are "representing the Holy Spirit."

    Monday Mass

Well you might. But a Bible school/missionary college could arrange for their students to learn the language of the people they would be working among. What's that got to do with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues?

The Sin That Can Never Be Forgiven - not in this world or the next

The Bible says there is a sin against the Holy Spirit, and Mark 3:28-30 tells us what it is. Jesus had been driving out demons and the Pharisees said that he was only able to do that in the power of Beelzebub - Satan. Jesus said that was impossible because Satan cannot drive out Satan; he...

Another look at the moon landing.

Ok, thanks for that. But I asked 3 months ago - along with a lot of other things - and am no longer interested in the debate. Have fun.

For what - to show you that your position is wrong? Far, far longer than I have. I suspect even Methuselah wouldn't have enough time.

Another look at the moon landing.

I'm not getting back into this; it's a pointless argument which proves/solves nothing.
