  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

In Romans 10:5-8, Paul referred to Deuteronomy 30 as the word of faith that we proclaim in regard to the righteousness that is by faith proclaiming that the Law of God is not too difficult for us to keep and that keeping it brings life and a blessing while not keeping it brings death and a...

I agree that the Psalms are not superior to the Pentateuch, though they are included as part of Scripture and the authors of the NT repeatedly quote from the Psalms as an authoritative source in order to support the truth of what they were saying, so we can likewise quote form the Psalms as...

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

The Psalms are part of the Bible. Jesus quoted three times from Deuteronomy in order to defeat the temptations of Satan, which included saying that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God, so do you think that Jesus was correct? In Deuteronomy 13...

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

The Psalms are the OT book that is most quoted by the authors of the NT with over 100 quotes, but you think that they should be interpreted as expressing views that are incompatible with the truth of what they considered to be an authoritative source?

Please interact with what I said in regard to those verses. Psalms 19:7-11 he law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure...

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

If God saved the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt in order to put them under bondage to His law, then it would be for bondage that God sets us free, however, Galatians 5:1 says that it is for freedom that God sets us free, so you are not correctly identifying what Paul was speaking against in...

He didn't. Please answer my questions. The Gospel of the Kingdom/Grace that Jesus taught in Matthew 4:15-23 that calls for repentance and obedience to the Law of Moses was the same as the one that Paul taught based on the Law of Moses (Acts 14:21-22, 20:24-25, 28:23). Jesus also set a...

No, the Gospel that Jesus spread through his life is the same message as the Gospel that he spread through his death and resurrection. Please answer my questions.

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

I said nothing about my own Gospel or about replacing 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. Do you agree or disagree that Matthew 4:15-23 is the Gospel? Do you think that the people who believe the Gospel that Christ taught in during his ministry believe a different Gospel?

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

I described 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 as being the Gospel. Why is that not sufficient?

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

Saying that the to believe the Gospel that Jesus spent his ministry teaching and that he accomplished through the clod in 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 is by repenting and becoming zealous for doing good works in obedience to the Law of Moses (Acts 21:20) is referring to 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 as the Gospel.

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

I didn't say anything about works of the law, nor did Christ come to fulfill them, but rather he said he came to fulfill the Law of Moses. Moreover, I was quoting verses to support what I said, so if you think that I have misinterpreted those verses, then please explain why. Christ did not...

Indeed, in Titus 2:14, Jesus gave himself to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so the way to believe int he Gospel that Jesus spent his ministry teaching and accomplished through the cross in 1...

Two Aspects of Salvation (Believers Need to Be Concerned With):

I don't see how you can claim that sin is not a factor in salvation from sin. Our gift of salvation would be incomplete if we were only saved from the penalty of our sin while our lives continued to be directed at being doers of sin, so there is an aspect of our gift of salvation that we are...
