As Texas Flood Deaths Rise, Officials Blast Faulty Forecast by National Weather Service

Like I said in the rest of my post, the biggest failure here was on the part of the camps for not having a weather radio or any sort of disaster plan.

As Texas Flood Deaths Rise, Officials Blast Faulty Forecast by National Weather Service

Many of the childrens' camps specifically advertise a "no phones" policy. Additionally, there are large portions of the US that have zero or spotty cell phone coverage, or only have coverage by one carrier (there are three primary cell networks in the US). I believe that emergency alerts go...

Hakeem Jeffries politicizes on and on for over eight hours

That's not true - it did actually break even for a few years in the early 2000s. But I'm not sure what your point is - the government is in the business of providing services to its citizens, not turning a profit.

Hakeem Jeffries politicizes on and on for over eight hours

    The USPS isn't a for-profit agency. It's mandated to be revenue-neutral.

The shrewdly drawn-up big ugly bill...

Right. Again, that requires a significant amount of bureaucracy to manage. You need to have doctors to confirm that a person is able-bodied and mentally stable (and the visits to make those determinations must be paid for somehow), you need to have inspectors to spot check those doctors for...

The shrewdly drawn-up big ugly bill...

Why? Incidentally, someone working full-time would likely exceed the income restrictions for Medicaid. And, more importantly, how will you determine who "can" work? How will you verify that they are, in fact, working? How much will the bureaucracy required to do that cost? And how many...

The shrewdly drawn-up big ugly bill...

Define "reasonable requirements." How are these determined? People not in the country legally are already ineligible for Medicaid.

Senator Thom Tillis: The Big Beautiful Bill breaks Trump's Promise

Necessities like handing out tax cuts left and right? Or a 15% increase in defense spending (despite the fact that the President has promised that we'll be pulling back from foreign conflicts)? I'd consider that more wasteful than over-providing healthcare to people who you think don't deserve it.

The shrewdly drawn-up big ugly bill...

The sticky wicket here is "shouldn't". That's a purely subjective evaluation. I don't think you'll find many people who say that we should give welfare benefits to people who "shouldn't" qualify for them. But you'll find a very broad spread of definitions for who exactly that would encompass.

SCOTUS Limits Federal Judges’ Ability to Block Executive Actions Nationwide

I understand that. I'm just wondering why you're so pleased with it. I would think that most Americans would want robust checks on executive powers.

SCOTUS Limits Federal Judges’ Ability to Block Executive Actions Nationwide

They didn't limit the ability of judges to block executive actions for just the Trump administration.

NATO Leader Lauds Trump as ‘Man of Strength’, ‘Man of Peace’

In a roundabout way, I guess we can thank Trump for that?

SCOTUS Limits Federal Judges’ Ability to Block Executive Actions Nationwide

What about the check on the Executive branch that was neutered by this ruling?

United States Supreme Court ruling on parents rights and LGBTQ books

Gee, I dunno? If you make a rule that makes it more difficult to say something, then argue that people should just not say it if it's so hard, that's a textbook example of chilling speech.

    Canada rescinds Digital Services Tax

Canada runs a ~$30 billion deficit in services in its trade with the US. Perhaps they were trying to address that?
