    I’m still knitting and crocheting blankets because I have a problem following patterns these days. Most of what I make I donate to warm spaces for people in need. I was sad to learn that not only do we have bed poverty here but some children have only a coat to cover them when they go to bed

    What's your garden like at this time of year?

    We moved house a couple of years ago and the garden looked nice but was really sterile because the borders were gravel with a membrane underneath. There were no worms or insects. I set to with a compost bin and the membrane and gravel are gone now. We’re gradually seeing more birds in the garden...
