  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Presbyterian Church of Queensland in Financial Difficulty

The Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) went through something similar around 15 years ago when the Mutual Society, they had heavily invested in, went bust. Millions were lost back then but the Church has survived. I hope the same will be true of our Australian brethren. :praying:

Jackie Shroyer, wife of US missionary, sentenced to 24 years in prison for his murder

44-year old missionary wife has an affair with a 24-year old local and gets him and two companions to murder her missionary husband! As Paul once put it: "not even the heathen would be guilty of it"

    Church is getting difficult

I carry Halls throat drops with me and pop a couple during the service. They help some, but not a lot, with singing the hymns. I got my eyes tested and changed glasses last month but it didn't make a difference. The thing is, I knew people who attended church well into their nineties and here I...

    Church is getting difficult

I am attending the same church I have attended for the past 28 years however things are starting to get more difficult for me. Before, I had no problem sitting in the pews, now they have become a torture for my back. Before, I hardly missed a word of my minister's sermon. Now, I am sometimes...

General question: The State of Israel and its relationship with Christian Communities.

We support Israel as its existance is prophecy fulfilled. We support Israel as it was promised to Abraham and his descendants by God Himself. We support Jews as they are still God's chosen people and the Lord was born into their race. We support Jews as God Almighty / El Shaddai does not change...

Pakistan’s Parliament passes law establishing commission to focus on minority rights

Pakistan's treatment of Christians has been appalling with many stuck in menial jobs, some actually enslaved and everyone of them subject to blasphemy laws that carry the death penalty for the slightest perceived offense of Islam.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s pastor, Frederick Haynes, launches bid to fill her congressional seat

That somehow doesn't sound right. The IRS need to tax that "church".

Rising number of Brits leaving Christianity turning to paganism

I don't think it's a question of "trust". It's more a matter of prodigal sons (and daughters) being comfortable in the pig sty.

I remember those as well as those raincoats we all used to wear that made us look like knights!

AI’s growth is exponential: What are the implications for humans and the Church?

Am I the only one who thinks this AI scare is similar to the Y2K scare which turned out to be... nothing?

Prominent Northern Ireland cleric calls for King Charles to abdicate after prayer with pope

Why should he? Would he abdicate if you or I called for his resignation? The late Dr Ian Paisley had 5 children. I know only of Ian jnr who served N. Antrim as MP before being booted out by his constituents. Who is Kyle and why did the Beeb even bother with him?

Prominent Northern Ireland cleric calls for King Charles to abdicate after prayer with pope

Hardly "headlines". This is the first I hear of this bit of non-news.

    Slipped disc

Who would say "no" to that? Many thanks! Btw, after praying for something different, I "stumbled" on some exercises that have helped a lot with the pain but I won't say "no" to Divine intervention!

What's the weather like where you are? (10)

Today, 3 Oct. 2025, was wet and very-very windy here in N. Ireland as storm Amy hovered over us.

    Slipped disc

I suffered a slipped disc back in April and the pain still persists now - in September. I tried taking pain killers - paracetamol and ibuprofen - which helped but I have stopped them as I don't want any side-effects from long-term use. Recently, I tried some exercises suggested on YouTube which...
