  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Pete Hegseth, I’m Grateful the Japanese Navy Spared My Grandfather’s Life

Well Im not 100% opposed to "going meta" in a thread. I do it myself sometimes, especially with my constant refrain of how the purpose of so much contemporary religion is to serve politics - which I see in action right here. Politics first, religion bends itself to suit the needs of politics...

I would not have assumed killing the shipwrecked was allied habit or policy either.

Wow. Instead of examining the morality of the topic at hand, you have finger wagged at an anonymous "they", accusing "them" of a character deficiency, This is just pot stirring that adds zero to our understanding of the event we're here to discuss.

I would not have assumed killing the shipwrecked was either German habit or policy back then.

Suspected. If found guilty, then they should be punished as the law prescribes. But just killing suspects rendered harmless and not fighting back, no trial. This is barbaric.

Charlie Kirk Didn’t Shy Away From Who He Was. We Shouldn’t, Either

I dont think so. The current US president still cares massively about it. Ok, then maybe yes some fanatics. Except also loads of regular R voters, and R politicians even in congress still cant let it go. This isnt the fringe. And stolen election is just one example of the sort of nuttiness...

Charlie Kirk Didn’t Shy Away From Who He Was. We Shouldn’t, Either

And the stolen election notion takes yet another hit - even tho it was already lying at the bottom of the sea.

Charlie Kirk Didn’t Shy Away From Who He Was. We Shouldn’t, Either

If you cant figure out the motivation, just look who was running against him. Trump fans here all the time are pointing out how their man is the most hated ever etc etc.

And then they moved on. Unlike loads of people in the center-right including so called "serious people" like congressmen who to this day cant just say Biden won a fair election. But really, most D voters had gnawing doubts about Biden. He was good enough to muddle through was the best they...

Charlie Kirk Didn’t Shy Away From Who He Was. We Shouldn’t, Either

Absolutely his inner circle and party management was protecting him and filtering what we could see by limiting exposure etc. And almost certainly they were lying to protect him. But thats beside the point. The point being: what segments of the political spectrum are correlated with...

Dear Pete Hegseth, I’m Grateful the Japanese Navy Spared My Grandfather’s Life

In WWII my grandfather served in the Royal Navy when his ship was sunk in the English channel. There he bobbed around for a day more or less. I dont know if the Germans were in a position to come back around to kill the shipwrecked. But at least for my sake its a good thing they didnt. I...

Charlie Kirk Didn’t Shy Away From Who He Was. We Shouldn’t, Either

Thats funny. Literally no one believed that. On the other side we have loads congress people and other high officials who cant even say Biden won the presidency legitimately. The contrast is night and day here.

    Denaturalization

A bunch of randos dont speak for me. The President speaks for the country. And to hear those words and tone out of his mouth about a whole nationality of people genuinely disgusted me, as it would for most people - Id like to think.
