    Maybe where I'm having problems understanding is that I'm fairly well versed in metaphysics. And I guess I'm having trouble understanding what it is when naturalism (what ever that is) is connected to metaphysics. It doesn't make any sense to me.

    Nope. None of that is true at all, including the Genesis account. Everything you brought up is explained by the geology and movement of the Earth over long periods of time. The Earth tells the story very clearly that there is no evidence of a a Biblical flood.

    The idea of a multiverse is speculative at best. The idea of multiverse is what the math suggest. So I guess it depends upon the degree of ones faith in math on where a person goes with it. It seems your over doing it a bit though. I'm have trouble with your word usage of "naturalism"...

    More often than not, so called "supernatural explanations" are nothing more than "religious beliefs" and have nothing to do with the supernatural.

    It just makes sense that the article does not include biblical creation. The article in the OP is from a science journal. Science looks at what the Earth is showing us and not religious beliefs. And that's a good thing.
