  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can not being in the correct denomination cause someone to not be saved?

It has substance once God takes a position on that subject. 2 Peter 3 "God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" John 3:16 "God so loved the WORLD that He gave..." not "God so loved just a few people". 1 John 2:2 "Christ is the atoning sacrifice for our...

Can not being in the correct denomination cause someone to not be saved?

Amen. Fracturing, splinterig was never God's plan for the church, even though we see it in the NT and Paul outright predicts it in Acts 20. 26 Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. 27 For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of...

What happens if someone dies before they became a believer, is it their fault?

Lazarus the brother of Mary and Martha was not resurrected "in a state of amnesia". Jesus remembered His disciples even after being resurrected. none of the people resurrected in the NT are said to have forgotten what they knew. Even the parable of the rich man and Lazarus does not depict the...

What happens if someone dies before they became a believer, is it their fault?

If not being chained to God, chained to the Bible, forced to obey, means that all God's children would go into rebellion, even those born sinless, then it is all a failure, God's gospel is mere arbitrary-selection. It means God was totally unjust to condemn Adam for sinning... after all even...

I hate being homosexual. It's an awful life

Praying for you my friend. May God continue to give you strength 1 Pet 4:1 Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for...

The Biblical Basis of 10 Catholic Distinctives

Nothing in OT or NT for that Not in the Bible. Christ was confronted with it and responded "on the contrary" Not a role specific to any office or person in the NT Not in the NT at all ( or OT) "in remembrance of me" not "I am killed each time you do this" Not in the Bible at all ... not...

What happens if someone dies before they became a believer, is it their fault?

God says to the saints that in their case He will not blot out their names. If one does not choose life, does not choose the gospel, there is no such promise for them. As for the OP, none of us can plan on having over 900 years to make our choice , like those living before the flood

What happens if someone dies before they became a believer, is it their fault?

Neither Lucifer nor Adam "needed" a sinful nature to make a bad choice. So if sinless beings without a sinful nature can make bad choices... how much more those WITH a sinful nature. So much so that Rom 8 says " For those who are according to the flesh (those who are not born again) set their...

    Chains of Bondage

Until you read it. Matt 22 Jesus said the two greatest commandments come from the Law of Moses Deut 6:5 Love God with all your heart Lev 19:18 Love your neighbor as yourself. Ex 20:7 "do not take God's name in vain".... yep taking God's name in vain is still a sin, even under the Jer 31 New...

What happens if someone dies before they became a believer, is it their fault?

Names get removed from the book of life at the judgment. Jesus promises the saints "I will not remove your name from the book of life" Rev 3:5

What happens if someone dies before they became a believer, is it their fault?

nope nope I am saying that having a sinful nature (which the baby has) is having a nature that has a bent toward rebellion, evil. Even if we die too early to have ever sinned, we need that sinful nature removed.

Can not being in the correct denomination cause someone to not be saved?

saved by "Denomination" affiliation could simply mean saved by fidelity to some group of believers. But more often (as in the case of this thread I suspect) it means , "right doctrine" since each denomination has a set of doctrines it holds to be true and according to the Bible. The fact that...

Did the beginning of the IDL change the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath?

God said in Exodus 16:23 "tomorrow is the Sabbath". The one who trusts that God was so confused in Ex 16 so as not to know which day was the actual Sabbath in Gen 2:2-3 is trusting a straw theology of God. For forty years in the wilderness the manna did not fall on "The Sabbath", the one who...
