  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Yeah I wasn’t sure if that was referring to the Christian Pentecost or the Jewish one.

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Yeah I figured you’d avoid my question. So did Christ observe the new moon feasts and the yearly festivals? If so how is Paul not overreaching his authority if “Christ is our standard”?

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Oh I fully understand that Paul wasn’t the one making the decision and so does sabbathblessings. My intention is to point out either the inconsistency or dishonesty regarding that comment.

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Oh but Paul had the authority to remove all the rest of the appointed times that were commanded by God?

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

Wow so those who were building on the foundation of Christ whose works were of no value are “saved for destruction”? That’s a first. I’ve never seen anyone interpret the word “saved” that way before.

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Apparently those early church writers disagreed with your interpretation of Colossians 2:16.

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

Where is the reward mentioned here? Where is eternal life mentioned here? Where is the reward mentioned here? We do receive rewards in Heaven other than eternal life. “Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become...

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Who’s actually practicing deceit here implying that I haven’t made my case with scripture? Truthuprootsevil even told you himself that he brought up the subject of Justin Martyr, all I did was quote what Justin Martyr wrote because Truthuprootsevil was claiming that someone had changed the...

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Well that’s just a flat out lie and you know it because you know full well that everyone in this thread has been quoting scripture as well as providing evidence from the early church writings that supports our side of the argument.

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

No you’re just exaggerating, people use his writings as evidence of what the early church practiced in order to dispel the false notion that Constantine changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday since he and several others specifically stated that Christians were gathering on Sunday...

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

Actually it was Ignatius of Antioch who was the first to mention Christians gathering on Sunday in his epistle to the Magnesians in 107 AD. Ignatius was born in 35 AD so he lived most of his life during the apostolic era and wrote about the early church that he himself was a part of. Now I don’t...

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

Right but when I asked “you’re associating that reward with salvation, are you not” that was said in response to you claiming that you never said that we earn our salvation. That’s why I asked what is the definition of the word reward which you still haven’t answered despite my asking twice...

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

You didn’t address a single point I made in this entire reply. You didn’t answer the question what is the definition of the word reward and you didn’t actually explain a single passage that I quoted. All you did was quote other passages as if they somehow nullify the passages I quoted.

    Sabbath Keeping and The Gospel

DO YOU SEE IN THE POST THAT I QUOTED THAT HE WAS SPECIFICALLY TALKING ABOUT JUSTIN MARTYR? DO YOU SEE THAT BECAUSE I SPECIFICALLY QUOTED IT AGAIN FOR YOU IN BOLD LETTERS.
