A post a person made on social media caught my attention:
Yep.
I've been heartsick this week for many reasons. One story stands out:
www.nbcnews.com
Kilmar Abrego Garcia was illegally deported to a notorious prison in El Salvador without due process. He has not been convicted of any crimes. Garcia had already gone through the courts and was legally in the US. The Trump administration has been ordered to bring him back, but the Trump DOJ is ignoring the rule of law and not doing all they can to facilitate his return. After all, fear and cruelty is the point of the Trump administration. There are probably many more wrongly deported as due process, a Constitutional right in the 5th and 14th Amendments, is being ignored - no person shall be "deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law".
May all the lawyers involved in this be disbarred.
Another story is Trump's playing king of the world, without care for other people. His tariff games are hurting small business owners who import their products from China. For instance:
www.foxbusiness.com
There is story after story on social media of business and farmers being financially hurt with Trump's tariffs. But Trump and his billionaire friends don't care - they made their profit when Trump gave the signal to buy 90 minutes before he decided to pause tariffs. Of course, that was probably motivated by the sell off of Treasury bonds, which in turn, weakens the dollar. Consumer confidene is dropping. That is Trump's fault, not Biden's.
As I tried to sleep one night several days ago, it came to me that there are three groups that make me heartsick for America and the people who are and will suffer.
One - Trump and all in his administration of enablers who help him thumb his nose at the Rule of Law. Stephen Miller is having a heyday comparable to Himmler. People, "persons" as they are referred to in the Constitution are being denied due process and are thrown into a modern day concentration camp in El Salvador.
People are losing their jobs if they do not agree totally with the Trump line. Laywers are being threatened for not ignoring the Rule of Law. Mainstream media is afraid to post stories negative to Trump. The resistance is growing an dhas a long way to go.
Two - There are American citizens who are blindly forsaking the Constitutional protections that has brought this nation to greatness, our right to due process in court procedures. For the first time, I am seeing stories of America being on the downhill now, that the dollar will not be the currency the world trades in before long.

IMO, MAGA is letting the courts turn into kangaroo courts, and tearing the country down in supporting Trump's crazy ideas. Some of MAGA is unhappy with the tariffs and other things, but they all voted this person as president.
Third - Christians mindlessly supporting Trump make me the most heartsick. I read of folks who identify as Christian voice roaring approval of the cruelty that the Trump administration is doing. They don't care if anyone is wrongly accused and thrown in a notorious prison. They don't care that government employess working in Social Security or intelligence or DOJ or oversee infrastructure and airline safety or the nuclear stockpile are fired. They are cheering RFK, Jr's destruction of the CDC and HHS. This week he fired cruise ship inspecters even as their are outbreaks on ships. Who cares, huh? He is belately and tepidly supporting the measles vaccine after the outbreak in Texas as grown to other states. Musk is moving communication for Social Security to X - no corruption there, right?? And much of MAGA is supportive.
It is the Christians who so blindly support Trump that bring this quote to mind from the Nurembert Diary:
“I told you once that I was searching for the nature of evil. I think I’ve come close to defining it: a lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the defendants. A genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow man. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.”
― G. M. Gilbert
Empathy ties into these scriptures
Mic 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love [fn]kindness,
And to walk [fn]humbly with your God?
1Co 13:1
¶ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
1Co 13:2
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
1Co 13:3
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body [fn]to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
1Co 13:4
¶Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
1Co 13:5
does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
1Co 13:6
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
1Co 13:7
[fn]bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Mat 7:12
¶ “In everything, therefore, [fn]treat people the same way you want [fn]them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets."
If you want due process should something unfortunate happen, or you are wrongly accused, then be sure that others get due process as well.
If you do not want your job randomly removed though it is important and necessary, don't cheer when it is done to others.
If you want your child or loved one to have every chance at recovery from cancer or other disease, don't cheer the ending of research that can save lives.
If you want America to be safe, don't cheer the destruction of alliances with like-minded countries.
This applies to much of our lives. Do you care? Do you have empathy for others? Do you have the love spoken about it I Cor. 13?
If not, you are nothing.
Yep.

Supreme Court says Trump admin must 'facilitate' release of man wrongly deported to El Salvador prison
The Trump administration conceded that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who officials allege is a member of the MS-13 gang, was wrongly deported to El Salvador.

Even Fox Business reported on how the tariffs hurts American business:

Small business owners speak out about effects of Trump tariffs: 'Unsustainable'
Small businesses told FOX Business they are worried about about their futures under tit for tat tariffs as the duties continue to eat into their margins.
Sarah Wells, who started her small business in 2013 to create functional breast pump bags for moms and imports from China, is one of them. After more than a decade in business, she has paused innovation, raised prices and is now only reordering a fraction of the products she once did, as tariffs continue to weigh on her business.
Until now, Wells said she has absorbed the higher costs because her customer base is new parents, but it has gotten to a point where it is "unsustainable."
Alfred Mai, the founder of San Francisco-based card game company ASM Games, said the skyrocketing costs of labor, materials and fulfillment in recent years ate into his companies' margins because he did not want to pass the costs onto consumers.
"It’s staggering and almost impossible to keep up with," he told FOX Business. "This is absolutely devastating for my business."

‘The damage is done’: Trump’s tariffs put the dollar’s safe haven status in jeopardy
Experts say fears about unpredictable policy are creating crisis of confidence in US bonds once seen as ‘risk free’
