  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In thinking about when the Holy Spirit was poured out during the Feast of Pentecost, on the early Jerusalem believers, I wanted to share this passage from Psalm 119:31-32...“I have clung to your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame. I will run in the way of your commandments when you...
(a short song, to a kind of Celtic quick-step marching tune, that I think kids would like--worshiping God with body, heart and soul.) Run (two, three, four) Run (two, three, four) Run (two, three, four) Run (two, three, four) Run to the Lord, there is plenty of sand on the shore to get out...
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing (Zephaniah 3:17 KJV) I sang an unknown song, In the Spirit, all alone,* So intimate that the Saviour Published it, before the Throne...
When astronauts see the universe from outside earth’s gravity, they capture instinctively that the summing of stars exceeds whatever reasonings we gather. “They travel on such an orb?”, the collective gasp circulates within their suits of air as they look back toward us. Dare those of us...
Lately, to aid me in not mentally wondering but to intentionally and intensively pray or read Scripture, I bow in my heart when the name of Jesus, “God”, “Lord”, “the Name” or any of the names of God surface to my conscience. This has proven so meaningful and has brought a fresh sense of...
If a loved one lived six time zones removed, With palpating memories I would feel incomplete, Yet the furthest thing from my heart would be To dismiss the strong cords of affection, Regardless the storms of life, though daring be The naysayers who assert that distance Thwarts reason, even...
Before the Beginning, with none but [1] Father, Son, and Spirit to hear, God could have left it at "I Am!" [2] But, the Babe of Bethlehem, proving the Father's love, appeared. [3] He would still be Love (if the Messiah had never created), [4] [1] But that would have cut across the grain of the...
I am glad that in my culture a renewed emphasis is being placed on teen and young adult males, that they may develop in their God-intended masculine roles, whether within the life of the church or in secular pursuits. Notice the role of young men (described by Moses) when Israel was led in the...
How important is it for a father to consistently model faith in Messiah Jesus? Well, let's look at how the mentioning of the honored Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is treated in Exodus 3. In the second and third mentions, in both Exodus 3:15 and Exodus 3:16, the Great I Am is referred to...
Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) ~ Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Memo to self: Why do you "hold fast the confession of [your] hope"? Is it to prove that you have been, are, or will be faithful? Stay clear of that. You hold fast and...

(for when celebrating the first coming of Messiah Jesus) One still small voice, from paper, leapt Into action, brought life to a dead spirit. “For God so loved”--how could it be?* A flicker of hope within self, to all around. Really, so personal? Can such goodness endure? But those thoughts...

Written after reading Luke 2:8-20, about the birth of Messiah (“the Christ”) Jesus. I imagined a hymn tune for it. While shepherds fires dispersed the wolves, The heavens opened sky, Then angels sang, explained the spark That brightened human eyes. They told of how a babe was born, Which bade...

Psalm 34:1-2 (1) I will bless Adonai at all times; his praise will always be in my mouth. (2) When I boast, it will be about Adonai; the humble will hear of it and be glad. (CJB) Are there styles of music in the church that make us wary? How about the mannerisms of some as they praise or sing...

Lord, “all things are your servants”. ^ Brethren, “all things are yours”! ^^ The above borrows from the two footnoted Scripture references. The beauty of looking at these verses is that whereas in Psalms creation is described as serving God’s purposes, the Corinthians reference describes all...
