Disclaimer: It is not our role to determine whether or not somebody is a Christian. We just use our discernment based on the evidence we have found on the internet to come to a likely or best-guess answer. Our answers do not actually determine who is or is not a Christian and it is ultimately between the person and God. Not us.

The 34-years old New Yorker has an indelible stamp criticizing the oppression of the Blacks and alleged conspiracy theories around the COVID-19 vaccines. She served as a guest host on Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN and has more than two million Twitter followers. Her influence spreads across various social media platforms where she deliberates on socio-political issues.
Her inability to complete her journalism degree due to a default on her student loan at the University of Rhode Island did not dissuade her passion for practising journalism. She has played host to several personalities on her show, Candace, and is at the centre of various controversies ranging from; supporting Russian propaganda, disregarding the reality of COVID-19 and its vaccine, the lies of climate change, and a host of other controversies.
Owens’ life is devoted to the media and exposition of societal ills. She has gained a reputation for deliberating on trendy controversial issues that have raised interest in her faith. This article will examine comments and interviews in a bid to answer the question: Is Candace Owens a Christian?
Is Candace Owens Religious?
As reported by Liberty University in September 2018 while she was encouraging students of the institution to stand up for truth and stand their ground, the media personnel used her story of being a victim of racial threats while at school but eventually triumphed with the help of her faith. According to her;
“I wasn’t happy being a victim. I was miserable. I have this idea that if we don’t accept ourselves as oppressed, or as a victim of our experiences, then we can achieve more in life.
I go for the jugular a lot against tons of things. I challenge Americans to believe their experiences versus what they see coming out of their TV screens. Because I grew up in a diverse country. I grew up in a country that has given opportunities to so many people, including myself.
I go around with a very simple message which is that bad things happen to everyone, but a victim’s mentality is not something that you should possess.
It’s believing in yourself, it’s standing up in the face of everybody telling you ‘You can’t. You’re not allowed to think that. It’s standing up in the face of all of that (criticism) and saying, ‘No. I am my person. I am governed by what I believe to be the truth, and I can live up to any expectation that I set for myself.”
The revelation above could be interpreted as having a strong religious base, one she turns to while motivating people.
Does Candace Owens believe in God?
Candace Owens is married to George Farmer, a renowned Catholic, and admits to sharing shame faith. She hosted her husband to discuss his faith on her podcast. Some of the views aired on the show were criticized by most followers.
Mike Jiff, one of her followers commented on the podcast via Facebook, “I was a catholic until the age of 28 when God removed the scales from my eyes as He showed me the deception that they teach. I was born-again at that age and am now 56. The ‘level of rubbish in my dustbin’ (sin in my life) is getting lower and lower and no religion can do that.
The Holy Spirit, Who dwells in me, reveals sin; I acknowledge it, repent, and ask God to change me. It’s not religion (traditional rituals) that changes man’s heart; it’s an intimate fellowship with God. It’s a continuous life of the Father showing the child what displeases Him, the child is sincerely broken and humbly repenting, then Father forgives, cleanses, and conforms the child into His likeness. He uses trials and tests to change us.
It’s a narrow road of identifying Jesus’ suffering (denying self, taking our cross, and following Him). He permits us to be put through the fire to test us as He refines us like silver! His wonderful peace and joy fill us as we trust Him and endure until His time to bring about victories! The triumph is worth much more than every tear, pain, and sorrow! Relinquish religion and embrace an intimate fellowship with Jesus Christ. This can happen when you are born-again.
Irrespective of Owen’s view and her controversial slant, Candace admits to being a believer and concisely expresses her belief in God.
Is Candace Owens a Christian?
Concerning her podcast featuring her husband, George Farmer’s exposition about his Catholic conversion story, a follower, Judy Bishop commented via Facebook regarding his religious insights. Below is what he said;
“Jesus says that we must be born again. As a former Catholic, I never knew what that meant. I knew that there was a God but I never had the born-again experience until 41 years ago (when I was 22 now I’m 63) when he revealed himself to me and I asked him to forgive my sins I wanted to know him as my Lord and Savior, and he came in my heart and soul that day and filled me with his holy spirit and set my heart on fire for him and others.
“Only God can give you a revelation of who Jesus is. Read his word and talk to him as your loving Father, he wants you to know him and reveal who he is and that he has a purpose for you, but most of all he came to forgive our sins to set us free … he loves us and his word says, he wants all to know him and not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Rachel Gillott another follower commented, “Catholics are taught to not have the audacity to say who is or isn’t saved, since the state of a person’s soul when they die is known to God alone. We are taught to pray for one another, that we will be saved. That last part was tough.
“Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. While there are clues as to the fruit of a person’s faith in life, no one but God knows the state of a person’s relationship with Him at the time of their death.”
John Weaver, another follower was ached by the video and commented, “Just watched the complete episode and certainly not impressed. I read my Bible every single day because I desire to know as much about God as I can and He certainly blesses. It helps to be able to actually witness to others to break down barriers and the lies that have been and are being told about Him.
“George knows Catholicism but doesn’t know scripture and proved that each time he spoke. Allie reads her Bible but misinterpreted a few things. Debates should always be a Bible study, George never opened scripture once. If you guys are interested in a Bible study, I would love to talk sometime, with no cameras, and no publicity, just as someone who truly cares about people and desires to spend eternity with everyone.
“The one thing Candace said was ‘we need to have an intelligent belief’, and that’s true, if you don’t know why you believe what you believe, it would be good to spend more time reading scripture than anything else in this life.”
She has been criticized by conventional Christians regarding her support for same-sex marriage and homosexuality. According to an Oped by Samuel Sey for the Christian Post, “Though she’s a professing Christian, like many supposed conservatives — she supports homosexuality and gay marriage. Though she says a person cannot be a Christian and pro-abortion because of the Bible’s words on abortion — she believes people like her can be Christian and pro-gay marriage despite the Bible’s words on homosexuality.”
According to her recent tweet, “I don’t like referring to myself as a conservative Christian. I’m a conservative because I’m a Christian. Christian theology makes me conservative politically. Leftist Christianity is a contradiction in terms. Leftism and Christianity are incompatible.”
Nonetheless, her assertion of being a Christian is received with raised eyebrows, Samuel Sey argues that “homosexuality and Christianity are incompatible. You cannot be pro-gay marriage and pro-Jesus Christ. You cannot unrepentantly practice homosexuality and practice Christianity. You cannot support homosexuality and serve Jesus Christ.
“God instituted marriage between a man and a woman. This means He instituted parenting between a man and a woman. Therefore a man needs a woman for a wife, a woman needs a man for a husband — a child needs a man for a father and a woman for a mother.”
Her support for same-sex marriage is traced to her earlier revelation of being raised by a single parent. According to her, “As many of you know, I was raised in a fatherless household. I suffered all the painful challenges that fatherless children tend to experience. I had sexual experiences by the age of 5; I suffered poverty from conception; I was involved in over 20 violent altercations before I was 18; and I didn’t graduate from high school.”
The political commentator has received lots of criticism for her views citing that they are a direct contrast with the scriptures. Notwithstanding, she claims to be a Christian so who are we to judge her views?

Candace Owens and her husband George Farmer share the same faith. George is a converted catholic which applies the same to Owens. Although there’s no verifiable source confirming her baptismal status, it is ideal for every catholic to undergo baptism before confirmation of being a member.
What did Candace Owens Say about Jesus?
During her appearance at Liberty University, the social commentator was of the view that ‘The Lefts’ are trying to replace God with government, according to her, “Why is it that the left mocks God? It’s a weird thing — there are a lot of things you can make fun of, but it’s very weird when you start making fun of Jesus Christ. Why would they do that?
“I believe that the left wants to grow government, and it wants government in many ways to replace God in people’s lives,” she said. “It wants people to turn to the government for every solution.
“Every single person here, I believe, has had a series of experiences that are prompting them to do something great in this world. At the moment that you believe in yourself, at the moment that you get back to your centre, that you align yourself with God, the universe will open itself up to you. It certainly did for me.
“Every single one of you can do something about it and participate in some regard,” she told attendees. “I believe in you. You can do it without government handouts. You can do it based on good ideas. You can do it based on hard work. You can do it with Jesus Christ.”
