• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hey everyone. I could really use some prayers. I'm really struggling with my mental health lately. Part of it is because my physical health hasn't been the greatest. I lost my SSI and my Medicaid and I have several health problems that I really need to see a doctor for but can't because we can't afford to pay out of pocket. I did reapply for Medicaid in the hopes that I can get approved again but it's taking forever and my injured knee is not getting any better. Neither are my other health issues. I also can't afford to buy most of my required medications out of pocket. I lost my Medicaid and SSI because Social Security says they overpaid me by $3000 and now they are demanding that I pay it back.

Another problem that I am having is behavioral issues with my son. I don't want to go into detail about it but we're getting all of the help we can. We're getting him into a psychologist but they don't have any openings until Summer. He also has to get screened for autism. That's all of the details that I feel comfortable providing.

The last thing that is causing my stress is the fact that my husband is working two jobs which leaves me to take care of our apartment and our son practically by myself. It also causes me to be quite lonely because I crave the time with my husband. Sadly, it's necessary that he works two jobs because if he doesn't, we won't be able to pay the bills. I can't work at all because of my disabilities.

Anyway, please keep me in your prayers. I'm really struggling.

Dear Ave Maria, I will be praying for you as I can see what you are going through. May the Lord God come and comfort you through your struggles and give you peace and the strength to keep going, may he lift you up and hold you with his love. Life is a hard battle for many that's why we need God to get us through our days. You are firmly in his hand and he will never let you go.

Victor.

Thank you for your prayers, everyone. I'm still going through quite a rough time. In addition to the injury to my knee, I've also been dealing with a stomach virus and had to go to the emergency room last night despite the fact that I couldn't afford to since my insurance hasn't been approved yet. My husband and I were worried that something serious was going on because of the intensity of the pain in my stomach. The one good thing is that it was nothing serious but only a virus.
