It is an irony that Russia succeeded in everything it planned and obtained nothing that it wanted from those goals.

They manipulated "social Media" with CLICKBOTS to create more extremism in the United States [with a desired goal to weaken their enemy through internal instability]. They achieved an schizophrenic superpowewr whose actions are impossible to predict because of internal extremism.
They sought to reclaim former Soviet territory for Russia, which they did through military successes. The result was that all of the neighbors that should have remained NEUTRAL and Trading partners RAN to join NATO in order to survive, bringing NATO to Russia's doorstep.
They planned to divide Ukraine between Ukranian speaking and Russian speaking historic boundaries to create a Russian-speaking country that could easily be absorbed back into Russia. They succeeded in the covert military operation to split the country and in the process, hardened the resolve of the Ukranian people to never again fall under Russian control. Now they are in a REAL WAR that they have already lost from a propaganda standpoint (what glory if Russia ultimately conquers Ukraine after the price it has paid thus far) and may well loose the military war as well. In either case, the economic cost has hastened a second "Soviet Economic collapse" and nobody but Putin is to blame this time.
All of their actions achieved none of the desired goals (a stronger, safer and wealthier Russia), but precipitated the opposite effect. For the sake of her people, Russia really needs to worry more about Russia than the rest of the world. (Good advice for the US until we get our "s**t together at home, too. Nation-building abroad is not a goal of the preamble to the US Constitution).
