I've been watching some videos below that depict how we typically only get to hear the positive upbeat side of the war when it comes to Ukraine. I had a video link that I just deleted because on the second listen through noticed the host used the F word on one occasion, which was a bummer because it was an account of a foreign soldier talking about what he is witnessing 1st hand with the siege of Bakhmut, and it is much different than what we typically hear. You can hear it for yourself on You tube's, "History Legends" channel, under the title. [HEADING=2]“Ukraine is losing” Foreign Volunteer admits in INTERVIEW with Willy OAM[/HEADING] I also think we are tempted to believe that just because Ukraine inflicts impressive causalities on Russia with its high-tech rockets, drones, missiles etc. that it is going to break Russia. As one pundit I listen to mentions most of Russia's wars they have fought since they became a nation in the early Middle Ages to the modern era have gone poorly for them in the first year of fighting. I also think there is lots of questionable stuff on what has gone on the Western side of things such as: 1) Ditching peace talks before the fighting started. https://www.commondreams.org/news/2022/05/06/boris-johnson-pressured-zelenskyy-ditch-peace-talks-russia-ukrainian-paper 2) Leading Ukraine on as far as it's ability to join NATO. Per the actual rules of NATO membership Ukraine never had a chance! 3) From the standpoint of the US, the rationale of advancing NATO eastward when other NATO members unlike the US contribute very, very little for their militaries. 4) The fact that Putin's 4 invasions in this century have only followed after US talks of advancing NATO eastward.... (In contrast to the Hitlerian depictions). 5) The Decimation of the Ukranian population, especially relative to item #1. I don't blame Zelensky for not wanting to give up any land to an invading army, but this could easily be a Pyrrhic Victory even if Ukraine wins. 6) The great sum of money spent on the war relative to other items in the US budget. 7) Assuming Ukraine wins the war... who is going to pay for rebuilding it? 8) How the War is sold to us. As one pod caster mentioned this is depicted as Good vs. Evil, like the Second World War etc. Jedi vs. Sith when Ukraine and Russia are much more alike than what most politicians and media folks are willing to concede. (Yes, Russia invaded but Ukraine has got its problem with corruption, human rights, genocide and war crimes etc.) 9) If Joe Biden and other politicians get their win, Ukraine indeed wins, and Putin's government falls I'm not so sure that they long term future is positive. Nuclear proliferation and instability are a likely outcome for a collapsed Russian government that spans a massive area with many ethnicities contained within. But such a win, would be something Joe Biden would need if he had a shot at getting reelected given his popularity and job approval on many issues. As far as the above goes I believe it is good to help Ukraine, but the degree in which we do so where we do have everything in our power to prop them up, while our country slowly falls apart. 10) The desire for some to get into an actual war with Russia, in spite of the whole nuclear sword of Damocles.
