SC High School Principal to Resign Over Formation of Gay Club

I disagree. In the United States, just a few decades ago, homosexuality was a criminal offense. In some states, so was a White person and a Black person being married to each other. On the other hand, cocaine was completely legal. Perceptions change. So do laws. There are organized groups...

    Before Saul went to Damascus

Which relates to another question I've been wondering about for some time. Where were the sons and daughters of the shepherds of Bethlehem? Surely they heard the story of the sky filled with angels. Yet they don't turn up en masse in the Gospels "We know who You are." In the case of one...

    Before Saul went to Damascus

Okay, but my response would be that Saul had a strong enough opinion of those stories that he arose to dedicate his life to KILLING anyone who believed them. I would hope that he investigated the stories before doing something that drastic. Thanks anyway.

    Before Saul went to Damascus

In other words, Saul would deliberately disobey God, right? This isn't the debate section so I will bite my tongue at this point. Thank you for your reply.

    Before Saul went to Damascus

Yes, He did -- on the road to Damascus. It was only AFTERWARDS he found all the other evidence to be convincing. I'm wondering why it wasn't good enough for him BEFORE.

    Before Saul went to Damascus

What I meant was Saul found no evidence that Christianity was TRUE.

    Before Saul went to Damascus

I have a question, something that occurred to me only a few days ago. And no-one else has ever asked it, that I know of. Christians point out that the empty tomb is proof. And they cite Paul's statement about more than 500 witnesses, on a single occasion, to a Resurrected Jesus. So here is...

    Questioning of Islam

Bushmaster, thank you for your comments. They are very informative. Is there any chance you could elaborate on this? Did you decide the Qur'an was mechanical revelation before you began studying Christianity, or after? If after, did you at some point in your life feel the Qur'an really was...

    Questioning of Islam

I know this is not a "specific question, but could you please go into more detail? What, exactly, did "common sense" tell you that overshadowed to idea that the Qur'an was God's Word? What was the first belief you had that weakened? That's a good point. I would be interested in how you, as a...

    Questioning of Islam

My name means that I am sceptical of Christian claims that the religion I belong to is false. Yes, people who are not fervent believers can convert. But I'm curious as to why someone who IS a fervent believer would take a step backwards, such as a strongly committed Christian converting to...

    Questioning of Islam

When you first began studying Christianity did you believe that if Christian doctrine disagreed with Muslim doctrine God wanted you to agree with Muslim doctrine? In other words, did you stand firm on (what you believed to be) God's Word, the Holy Qur'an?

    Questioning of Islam

Well, nobody is talking to me, but I will make a comment anyway. My religion changed it's rules for prayer, and doctrines were adjusted as the understanding of the believers increased. Do you think these historical facts make me have the slightest doubt my religion is a message from God? Plus...
