Why Do Christians Lie About What God Said in Genesis 2:17?

I'll take what the bible says and believe it rather than try to allegorize it

Why Do Christians Lie About What God Said in Genesis 2:17?

Well it's like the old question about whether Adam had a bellybutton or not. We have to remember Adam was not born his process for becoming a living being was not the same as ours. God took inanimate material, and made it alive., and it became a living soul. In Eve's case He used a process that...

Why Do Christians Lie About What God Said in Genesis 2:17?

from a scientific perspective, the marrow of rib bones and other flat bones are the best source of stem cells in an adult, where most hematopoiesis (formation of new blood cells) takes place. In children it's the marrow of long bones like the femurs but in adults it's the flat bones, shoulder...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

I don't grasp the issue here, maybe because I have no hope in this world I only have Jesus.

Ammillennialism and Pretribulationism both fly against the Early Church

Correct, so it's clear to me, that Jesus was crucified during the day on Thursday, buried when it became Friday evening, (Day 1), Friday evening to Saturday Evening (Day 2), and rose in the third day (Sunday) not at the conclusion of the 3rd day. It just shows they reckon time differently...

Ammillennialism and Pretribulationism both fly against the Early Church

Scripture and the Israelites. There's a thread about this particular subject here Two Sabbaths in Passion week? No! the main idea being that they'd denote a special Sabbath if another Holy day happened to fall on a Sabbath, but they didn't declare these days Sabbaths in themselves if they were...

3 EXTRAORDINARY VISIONS AND PROPHECIES END TIMES ACCORDING TO 3 SAINTS. " THE WORST IS AHEAD. "

To me if it's not in scripture it's speculation. I speculate on prophetic things as well, but I do know that anything I think of is not scripture and not necessarily true, it could be true, but it's also likely not true.

3 EXTRAORDINARY VISIONS AND PROPHECIES END TIMES ACCORDING TO 3 SAINTS. " THE WORST IS AHEAD. "

yeah I take extrabiblical prophecy with like.. a sack of salt not just a grain, but a whole sack that is, I don't believe any of it.

Ammillennialism and Pretribulationism both fly against the Early Church

They don't refer to the Passover as the Sabbath. They never do.

Why Do Christians Lie About What God Said in Genesis 2:17?

I meditated on it a lot recently like Revelation 20.. where does this 1000 years come from.. and it hit me, the Day of the Lord. One day is with the Lord as a thousand years. That's what John must have gotten the 1000 year period from, all those references to the Day of the Lord and "that day"...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Shouldn't the Pope be pointing people to Jesus? Aren't we all supposed to be?

Why Do Christians Lie About What God Said in Genesis 2:17?

right it's not meant to be an exact equivalence, but more just.. the Lord doesn't consider time by the same way we do, we think it's a long time to the Lord it's like, 1 day. But that concept I believe comes from Adam's lifespan.

Why Do Christians Lie About What God Said in Genesis 2:17?

To be honest this idea is where I believe the "day is 1000 years" equivalence came from, because God said in the day, and then Adam died within 1000 years. "the day of the Lord" is another common phrase in the bible and in Revelation 20, John writes about a 1000 year period that is nowhere else...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

"that Jesus Christ will be coming back to it" still a simpler and better answer.

Pre-Mil Only What do you think about the video from a Pastor on YouTube?

not a particular spot in scripture I've seen to specifically defend a post trib (whether posttrib-prewrath, or your more traditional post-trib, or the Joel Richardson "hybrid" between the two) rapture but a solid one. I (and Joel Richardson for that matter why he doesn't just stay full post...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Yeah I'll agree when people say it's not enough to believe Jesus existed, there's a lot of people who believe Jesus existed and was a "good teacher" or a "good person" and Muslims even believe He is the Messiah, but that's not what Jesus means for you to believe. You have to believe He is the...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

"what gives him hope" answer should be easy: Jesus Christ.

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Okay but it is extremely misleading to people when you tell them they are good people, because a lot of people assume you get to heaven by "being a good person". They're impossible to save in that position. They don't know they need a savior.

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

the ground floor of the gospel is that God is good, and we are not. We are sinners. Until one can grasp that first basic fact, that they are not good, that they are a sinner, they cannot be saved. The first foundation of getting saved is learning you need a savior in the first place. as for...

“We are all fundamentally good ... the heart itself is good,” says Pope Francis

Oh, okay, well, I'm sure that means the Pope was totally justified in claiming all humans are inherently good, and that the heart is good instead of what the bible says.
