Blessed Feast of the Annunciation!

I saw this introit to the Magnificat and thought it to be quite beautiful:

‘Holy Mary,
come to the aid of us poor ones;
strengthen the faint-hearted,
console those who weep,
pray for your people
be a help to the priests,
intercede for pious women,
may all feel your aid
who celebrate your holy festival.’

Alas, the bottom element in our oven failed at the end of last week and I have yet to determine if I can find a replacement. Maybe I should fire up the charcoal grill with the hood and do our baking in that. Things tast better cooked with charcoal, although I don't have any way of regulating the temperature.
My son was attempting to get a sourdough starter going a few months back only to have it go mouldy. I need to encourage him to have another go.
