Child-like innocence. OK, what else should we be keeping from them?
Good grief, why should they be exposed to drag queens? I didn’t even know what sex was until I was 11.

Many jurisdictions are trying it. Are there not anti drag queen laws of various kinds sprouting up all over?
Something about not taking kids to drag shows but if we’re talking about someone taking their own kids that’s unconstitutional to stop that I would think

It's certainly not necessary that they be exposed to drag queens, but it can be fun. But if you didn't know what sex until you were 11 then you certainly wouldn't have been harmed by drag queen story hour. You wouldn't have seen anything but men who like to dress like women in an exaggerated way, kind of like clowns, and laughed at them and enjoyed the show..

No. I find it degrading to women. If they want to be in gay bars then that’s their right. Just leave the children alone.

Many of these proposed laws ban kids from "drag shows" and specifically include DQSH.

I can see where they can keep it out of a public school or public library, but I don’t think you can stop parents from taking their own children to a drag show

How will you keep your kids in a state of childhood innocence when their friends are going to drag shows?

You know, I am not particularly interested in defending drag shows. I occasionally go when I hear of a good one and have a good laugh, but I'm not going to complain if DQSHs are cancelled. What I wonder about are all the strange things I'm hearing about how to raise children. Don't let them laugh at drag queens, don't let them shake their buns, keep them in a state of childhood innocence as long as possible. Why?

You certainly can have kindness and decency without using pronouns. Kindness and decency is a two way street. I land be kind and decent and not use the pronouns and you can be kind and decent and not demand I do. That's what kindness and decency is. A recognition of the other persons rights and not force them to speak in a certain way. Forcing them to speak in a certain way is authoritarian and bullying. Not very nice or kind at all. But then most authoritarians aren't very nice.
I would never be in a position to demand that you treat someone as they would like to be treated. But if you didn't then I would treat you accordingly. You shouldn't expect any friendly chats at the water cooler or an invite to a few beers with some of the guys. But you have the temerity to complain that it would be bullying if someone found you unsympathetic, disrespectful and lacking empathy.

The chutzpah is off the scale.

The same reason you would oppose ministers coming into the schools reading Bible stories and encouraging kids to experiment with Christianity.
They do exactly that in my grandkids school. It's optional. Extra curriculum. Some parents (very few) opt in. Some opt out and the others go to Ethics classes. Who on earth would oppose it?

Their child like innocence. Why should they?
The notion that the clothes one chooses to wear is per se sexual in nature glosses over the point that most drag events are of an entertainment nature, and are not overtly sexual.
